Did perhaps he lie about something?? Not accusing just trying to figure out. The recruiters get dinged if one of their students get sent home. The recruiter does'nt like it. And niether does Prime. They do not want to pay for bus ticket and wasted time for recruiter, and get nothhing in return.![]()

This all makes sense I guess what doesn't make sense is with all the info out there it seems like a lot of people get sent home. I went through an orientation for a LTL company last month and durining the interview process my background or past employment never realy came up. I was offered their school and job upon completion but the pay is just too much of a cut from what I am making now. Not that Prime won't be a cut to start as well but nowhere near as big a cut.

Well Im a bit bummed out now but at least I got the right answer. They DO NOT pair female tranees with male instructors/trainers. Unless they are married. They are not currently hiring females because they have no female instructor/trainers. Kinda sucks cause I really liked how their training program sounded but oh well its not ment to be with Prime.

Sorry to hear that Smurfette. Hope you can find some place that works for you.

Smurfette, that's a real bummer. To me this whole gender thing is confusing now days and could be very complicated.
My recruiter told me that they had already verified my employment, MVR, and references. Of course I had only 1 employer for the past 21 years so I guess it was easy. I don't understand why the complete background check isn't done prior to going to class. -
Im probably going to go to Central its closer to home still OTR just a little quicker getting CDL thats all Im nervous about. I have pre-trip down mostly did it in college for 3 weeks along with Air Brakes and reefer repair. I know that its hard for some companys worrying that the female student will have an issue with a male trainer. Or not really an issue but I have seen it happen to many times in school the girls cry wolf when nothing really happend but the guy gets in trouble so I understand in a way. Well to all you Prime trainees good luck.

You would think it might save the company some money doing it in advance I.e. Bus fare lodging etc. My recruiter called and asked me about a couple marks on my background check from 92 and 93 (which I had listed on the app) before she even submitted my info to safety. As a matter of fact she called me twice.
-
Good luck to you too Smurfette. Hope Central turns out to be a good fit for you. It is a shame a few people looking to cause issues make it hard on others. I see it on a daily basis in my current career and it goes with both genders.

Yeah I am not sure about the "truth" but its all good. I am not worried about myself, my past 4 years of employment were with the marine corp and I have a secret clearance so my backround is clean as a whistle. Nothing to hide here. -
One of the background checks done at Prime is a FBI background check that requires that fingerprints be taken. That can't be done before you show up.
stlcardsfn Thanks this.
