How many miles away from the hub do you travel?

 

Thats OTR and should be logged.

 

When my hubby first went OTR the company told him it only counted as OTR if he spent more than one night a week away from home, not so much the log book.

IMO: they are looking at if you can deal with being away from home for extended periods or if you are one of those drivers who HAS to be home so many nights a week etc.

 

shoot, i only drove for pepsi for not even a month, and i got a better job..

There are many ####### companies out there...............try this.....

Just tell them you worked OTR part time at night.

That may fly !!!!!

 

I'm not familiar with the Western United States but something tells me that's much more than 100 air miles - you need a log dude..

 

I think ya'll are misunderstanding what he's asking. I'm sure he knows when he needs a log book. To answer your question, different companies have different ideas of what OTR is. Some companies say you need to have driven in X number of states to have OTR experience, others say you are OTR when you stay in the truck for X number of days. I have never heard that you are OTR as soon as you start a log. Some companies require you to keep a log even if you are a local driver. Your job is unlikely to be considered OTR by most companies standards.
