    Good luck treetop!

One of the things I don't yet understand is that when I request layover or shuttle pay it SEEMS to be given to me as an advance which then does NOT go into the bank account.

I'm not asking for an advance. I'm asking to get SOME pay while hung up in a company shop or left to rot two or three days in Laredo.

    Maybe chip will comment here....

You'll have to do teams for 6 months, minimum. And as a team you'll gross more than 2200 miles a week. You shouldn't get less than 4000. Team pay is much different than solo pay and I'm not even sure what they're starting team drivers out at. For instance, I started out at, I think, $.26/mile. A team driver might start out at $.14 or $.15/mile, but you should be making twice as many miles as a solo driver. You make 5000 miles and at $.14, that's a $700 gross paycheck. Now, you'll have $25/week taken out for escrow and $45/week taken out for school. That's after taxes, BTW. The escrow only lasts 3-4 months.

no one starts out driving team at PAM all go solo and teams are for those that live close so you can get home together and better drive solo first when you figure out that then if you find someone that you can live in a small space with then maybe but take your time

Actually Kevin I was trapped in Tontitown maybe a week and a half or two weeks ago.

Some new hires were in fact told they will team up for 6 months.

I'm not sure I trust another human being ALL that much. I'm solo baby!

All new hires are teamed IF there is someone within 100 miles of them to team with for 6 months... It's a new policy... But you don't have to stay with someone you don't get along with..

I start orientation on Monday 8/29 in Tontitown, this will be my first driving job. This is the first that I have heard about mandatory team driving. I was quoted training then solo pay scale just this past week. Nothing about team driving, except, I was asked if I would consider team driving in the future. Dang, I hope they don't require me do teams.
