Happy belated birthday, the secret about planning at Roehl is this, there is no planning, just a bunch of people that sit around and send e-mails to the people sitting right next to them. Twice now I have gone to pick up loads at Steel King in New London, only to get there and find the trailer I am supposed to pick up gone... Then I call dispatch and wait for hours while they try to figure out what to do next. I have wasted over 8 hours this week just on those two, and now today I go into Logan Aluminum and my pick up number is already being loaded onto a flatbed that is in the door. Call dispatch and wait for half and hour for a new pick up number, in the mean time 12 more trucks come in and get in line ahead of me. When will Roehl figure out that our time is worth something too, maybe not to them, but it is all I have to make money, and I can't afford to sit around waiting on incompetent people.
ROEHL BOUND... June 14th... Relief and excitement!

thanks for the Bday wishes guys! I loke your take on planners... lol
I'm back ing Marshfield at the moment. Been all over Wisconsin and back... I've run just a little over 1000 miles for the week. Which sucks, but I will be in load securement training tomorrow at 0700 so maybe that flatbed will be rolling soon. I don't know what the plan is, but that seems to be the way things go with me...
FM never told me the plan for me as it is. I had a feeling the way I've been bouncing around the wonderful state of Wisconsin... Not a load over 400. Only one close to that. I told my wife maybe they are going to get me in for load securement training. Sure as $$$$ that was what happened. So here I am... lol
Looking forward to see what is coming next. Flatbed truck with an APU!!!! PLEASE

Good luck with the skateboard! I'll continue to follow your adventure.

HAHAHA, good luck!

they are working on it getting me a truck! I heard anyway... hope its a good one...
-
Make sure it has plates.
-
No ####, smart ###.....lol, jk
I think mine had been missing a long time before I got the truck. The paperwork to cover not having the plate was in the permit bag but was expired by almost a year so it was pulled when I brought the permit bag in to get checked out.
Anyways, make sure you let us know what you get. Hopefully its something decent for ya. I figure I'll be headed to Marshfield when I get back from home time to do the securement training. Might get to see ya there if thats the case.dude6710 Thanks this. -
Check your permits (all of them). I bet you will find several of them out of date. And make sure you have all of the necessary Canada papers (I was missing one of them and was lucky enough to find another Roehl driver with the one I needed).

Hey all, been skimmimg over this thread because I'm close to sealing the deal and coming to Roehl as a freshly graduated student driver.
A few questions (mainly for hindsy), how long u been in training?
Are u making good money yet?
How is hometime?
Any other helpful info about Roehl would be great.
I'm going with the flatbed division if all goes well.
Thanks -
Happy Birthday Hindsy . Sorry I missed the (on time) post. I just returned from Buffalo NY ... Had to drop off my youngest son to UB (University at Buffalo). On the way out from Saratoga NY (Home) I did not see any Roehl Units in transit. While coming home I saw (2) Roehl units running together headed toward Buffalo. Gave me a warm feeling inside.. (Wife said I had indigestion). I used my Garmin 465T all the way. I tested the unit a bit. It's a nice tool. I want to change the voice to something soothing, not sure how to do this yet. The wife says it's annoying. I said " At least it's a female voice"... I got a nasty scowl....I kept quiet for 10 miles or so... I noticed around 4pm all the TS and rest areas seem to start to fill up with rigs parked... I also noticed the driving the interstate at 3am was wide open and no traffic at all... Hummmmmm? I wonder if I could run at night exclusively? Winter is approaching and its warmer in the day so sleeping would be better (No Idling & No APU I assume). I noticed trucks headed threw the EZ-PASS... I would like this option too. Again, I am a hopeless student now and just speaking as to what I see and can imagine, I'll get the poop kicked into me soon and stop asking stupid things but for now its "He's a IDIOT" and I like it that way for now. I'll be a pro someday but now stupid is bliss...
