Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

never driven them--but have seen a few stuck on just a skim of snow
they probabely have their good points and there bad points as everything else does -
I ran an auto truck for awhile at USX. It was great in traffic, but lacked IMO in the mountains in the East, on slick surfaces, and low speed maneuvering.
I've said it a number of times, you can give a whole new meaning to the term, "hit a dock" with the ones with no clutch pedal.
All that said, I much prefer a manual shifter, seems you have much better control.
25(2)+2 Thanks this. -
Your assuming...........and you couldn't be more off base. The wannabee is for tractor-trailer, not transmissions.
-
When I say automatics are dangerous.....It is because they are.
-
Wrong Wrong Wrong.
if you know how to operate an auto box it is no more or less dangerous than operating a manual.striker Thanks this. -
I beg to differ. I like my manual tranny.
-
Have you actually driven an auto?
-
Yes and No. You a truck salesman?
-
I have experience with heavy loads and I cannot imagine a truck "knowing" its gear.
Let's agree to disagree ok?
