Hopper, Dump O/O's & Drivers

When we had them deliver whole cottonseed years ago,i think it took around 20 minutes also. I've never seen one hauling corn though,was it a 48 footer?

 

use to pull one hauling urea outta vicksburg up to hartford kansas....it was a wilkens but unloaded in bout ten to twelve min...and wheat is not quite as "slick".....hell when i was a little boy my dad said a "walking floor" was when you busted a few bags of soybean seed an poured them all over the floor of a flat with a side kit so you could throw the bags an they would slide all the way out to the end and into someones hands on the other side.....bust a 60$ bag of seed now and see what a farmer says bout it...haha

 

ya been there my family has owned several elevators around here gravity fed wheat spouts or even augers for that matter are very slow.....wheat is so abrasive

 

Welcome to the hopper thread,squarebox. Yep,we used to put alfalfa dust down on the flats and it worked kinda the same way,if the humidity was not too high,i'd be scared to try it with a bag of beans now too. Did you ever pull any cottonseed out of Alabama from Burgreen and Black Cotton Gin when you pulled the walking trailer?

I feel your pain WH,i emptied out a bin of corn for a farmer today and i'm still coughing up dust. I forgot my little white mask and a bandana hanky just don't do the trick for a good filter. He had a 16ft.sweep in a 27ft bin,so needless to say i got to scoop a LOT!

 

Was it freightlogistics or aka MBI? They haul alot of wheat into cereal foods with those things and make a big mess.
