Hi, is that 22 per driver or split and how many miles per week, i have trouble with teams , well not really , but when i wanna sleep, they have the air going full blast or radio and they eat all your food as you stock up, as they go in blow there money on pinball all night and expect you too support them till next payday ,cause there advance out or cant them get out truckstop, and say too em the load will be late if we dont get going,i like too drive , not a truckstop junkee ,hate truckstops , no money is ever mad at the truckstops , unless your brokedown, when i was driving and truck broke , i call dispacth tell him were i was, tell im unhooked and truck in ta shop , of course authriz by there shop and ussaly they put a recovery on load and i take there empty trl, then call dispacth back and tell im gonna go grab a motel outa my pocket and he just says see ya in am and that was it , truck came out shop wait 4 hours no idel , check over there work, and was on my merry way, with new load info , to pick up, and with fresh shower and good breakfast.:biggrin_255:

im pretty sure you got .22 a mile but its the MILES that are split not the pay. You each get .22 a mile so if the truck ran 4000 that week you get paid for 2000 miles and he gets paid for 2000 miles. pretty good system really. most of the teams now are averaging 4500 a week and the top runners are doing about 6500 i think they said. after 6 months you go up to .31 a mile. pretty good pay for a new trucker such as myself.

    well,
i got a new co driver. I had to wait three days to get a load going north out of Atl to pick him up. Well, got the load, dropped it at dropyard and truck would not start. had to go to freightliner for another four days. Remember the opti idle problem that peanut didn't want to get fixed? Yep. Turns out the opti idle was telling the computer that it was opti idling all the time and would not allow truck to crank. Wiring was chafed and all kinds of bad codes to computer..
So, there was another truck there that we took instead. It has been a fairly good running truck.
And no, Peanut was not a black guy (for the one who asked).

    Where to begin..sigh

So, I "interviewed" this guy. He said that he smoked and that smoking didn't bother him. Two weeks later he informs me that second hand smoke bothers him?? So, he lied to me to get on the truck, then complains that smoke bothers him....So, I have a co-driver that lied to me from the start..

The guy could drive ok, and he was ok with Qualcomm. Over the next few weeks out, we ran pretty good. But....

This guy did not understand that you don't turn Trucks around in gas stations. Yeah, he did it, but, sooner or later, this mentality will bite his butt.

The guy would not take a shower. I had to have a talk with him about it. WHY? Why do I have to tell someone that 4-7 days is not a decent regular showering cycle? OMG, I heard about these type people, but never had to team with one....

Apparently, this guys trainer didn't teach him how to back under a trailer. After high-pinning a trailer I had to teach him how to avoid this?

Woke up one morning with tractor banging trailer kingpin 4-5 times...Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang...
What's going on? "well I couldn't get it to go, so, I was trying it from different angles" Well, if it isn't working first or second time, you need to GOAL. "well, there were raindrops on the mirrors".....so I look out mirror and tractor tires are lined up with the kingpin...geez. ok fixed it and told him thats how trailer legs get warped..thats why they are tough to raise and lower..

How many troubles did I rescue this guy from, I can't count. The worst was the attitude. I should have let him turn around in the gas station the first time he wanted to....

I got a cold or the flu. This guy threatened me that if I didn't call in and tell the dispatcher I was sick, then he was going to. So, to nip that in the bud, I call the FM and tell the FM that this guy is afraid of catching a cold...She has me tell him to call. He does and the FM basically tells him to pony up, we got freight to move. After this little display, I told him he was getting off the truck. Dropped him off today.

This only means I will have to go through the whole process of finding another co-driver again..Sigh.. I just need a decent person that is willing and able to do their job, without treating it like it's some kind of game. I have a family that needs the income, and I don't need to be telling someone about personal hygiene and such..

ok, I'm at home for a few days or more.
