I was in the Toledo area the other week and heard that a doctor ran a red light and drove into the path of a tanker truck, he was killed at the scene. What makes this a precedent ? The insurer of the truck said that the driver did not do anything wrong, so they refused to pay for the cleanup. The local county as well as the state have joined in the suit to say that if you haul hazmat, you are responsable for the cleanup. This is the biggest crock of crap that I have ever heard, if this succeeds and they rule against the trucking company, it will set a precedent that is sure to mean that anytime a truck is in an accident it is the fault of the truck driver or the company. You better have an opinion about this one as it will affect the future of anybody in the trucking industry. I do not know who to contact but I am willing to make a money contribution because this is a killer of a precedent to set. It is bad enough we all have to pay for the bad drivers in one way or another, this driver did not do nothing wrong, if you never do anything in your life about getting involved in trucking politics, you better get involved here because if you do not the future is going to say if you drive a truck, you are responsible and you are wrong. Enough already, lets fight back......drive55cat
