They are no longer a trucking company Walmart uses to move the freight it pays to move. Some other companies that pay to ship thier freight to Walmart may still use them. This is why you still have loads to Walmart. The last two times I was at a walmart there were no Roehl trailers in sight for a D&H, had to find one elsewhere. Also Roehl is no longer hauling for many of the home depot DC's. Remeber just because you may haul somewhere doesn't mean it isn't a broker load or being paid by the shipper. Roehl started bidding out based on hauling the freight for a set price per mile regardless of weight. This was told directly to me from my Fleet manager. This is why we are hauling so many more heavy loads. As much as the customer can put in a trailer. This is what is meant by Roehl is loosing quality freight. My first load with SNI was a 13000lb load from Whirlpool to Lowes and was 1155 miles. 8 of my last 9 loads with Roehl were over 42000lbs. Hard to make monay if your buying the fuel.
I was with Roehl for nearly 3 years and believe me when I say it changed. The trucks are old and high mileage and the freight is sub par compared to most other companies. Oh by the way how are all you company drivers liking the forced per diem? Cannot deny that pile of rip off.........

You will be hard pressed to get a Wal-mart load.
-
I have not heard anything about a forced per diem. We were given the option to have that or not after school and I chose to not take it. Haven't seen anything different on my recent checks.
-
You will get it at 60k miles then.
-
Thanks for the update I will have to check into that.

OMG ETCH you and Gypsy both with Schneider and both throwing rocks at Roehl. What next dogs and cats sleeping together?

Any questions you have contact your recruter, they will be glad to help.

Nope not throwing rocks just telling it like it is. Wonder why many (not all but many of the older drivers are not there anymore? It just amazes me why someone would bank everything on what was told to them by a newbie. Remember Smiley? She was all gun-ho for Roehl as where many others, myself included. My comments come from my experience. Hey those making it there and are happy there, great mozal tov!

Well I am just a newbie but I can't say I have much of anything to complain about thus far. For the 3.5 months I have been driving on my own I am getting 2500+ miles a week (alot of those 3K+). I have not been "micromanaged" to any extent. I pretty much take my own route if it is close to what they have sent but mine is better and always get a fast ok if it is out of route to what they sent but overall shorter and better. The biggest complaints I have are with after hours dispatch and repair work (or lack thereof) at the Gary terminal. Other than that they pretty much just send me p/u and deliver info and keep out of my hair.
sly1 Thanks this.
