Had my class A DMV test this past Tuesday the 24th but it got delayed until the 1st of Sept (wed). Since I won't be able to get hired on with dot foods and all the great companies I find that aren't mega carriers require at least 1 year OTR etc... I'm looking into Shneider.
The two positions I found out of my location are the fallowing.
and
Between the two I'm looking at the first one more. 3 weeks on 1 week off. I doubt my average pay would be any less or much less than the second one. And having an actual week off would be better than just a day here and a day there. If I get days off I want them to be put together so I can actually enjoy my time off. Not just pass out in a bed then get called out a day or two later.
Would anyone else like to offer some input?
May apply for Shneider, found two positions

I believe the first opportunity is a team driving one with 3 person teams. You slip seat every 3rd week. Sounds okay in theory, never talked to anybody who has done it though.

There is no mention of it being a team drive, but I'll ask them about that.

watch out the first couple times you come home, you'll forget how to drive your car! i'd put over 100k miles on mine and i just sat in it staring at the wheel thinking, "where does the key go? how do i turn on the lights?"

Happens every time i get into any automatic, always find myself reaching for that imaginary clutch

My last time drive a truck was over 15 years ago and every once in awhile, I still try to pull the stick down into 10th gear! I snap out of it once I realize I'm in neutral.

Then there is the problem of looking out the windshield and wondering where the heck is the road!

I am to leave for Orientation either Saturday or next week (depending how quick the Drug test results return) and it is out 6 days home one.
I know you say you won't like that. I say home once a week to repack the cooler, check on the house and kick the dog is OK for a noob. There is mail to tend to and time to wash all my clothes. Not perfection but it's not the rest of my life either.
It's a dedicated account and since the miles are low there is a weekly stipend to keep you making a fair wage.
Let me know if you want to know more.
