I hit one deer in my life, 1 ton dually, deer went under the truck and only a little hair on the rear axle. Next time mash the gas and dont look back.
Should we just give up?

You can try those bigger companies, but no guarantees. When I said "REAL bottom feeder" companies, I meant the fly-by-nights with usually fewer than ten or twenty trucks they bought second hand from one of the bigger companies and trailers you can still see the outline of the other company's logo on. These smaller outfits are out there. You will just have to keep your ear to the ground to find them.
BTW: Don't waste your time and energy with Swift. This rollover is too recent for them to consider hubby for employment.JenLaw84 Thanks this. -
Find a O/O that will hire him, he will have to keep his nose clean and no accidents for 10 years and it will be off his record.
Its not all is loss
I have a neighbor that has rolled 2 flatbeds on deadmans curve in cleveland with steel coils. That was almost 10 years ago and he has been driving the whole time. For a O/O and he drives through Trans Am. Dont give up. Good LuckJenLaw84 Thanks this. -
Thanks Gitty. We aren't too far from deadmans curve so we always hear about accidents over there esp in the winter which to me shouldn't be because there are tons of signs forewarning to reduce speed down to 35 because of the turn but crap happens. Thanks again everyone for all your input been filling out a few apps checking the local classifieds, Craiglist. Keeping our fingers crossed something comes along sooner rather than later. Any idea as to what a Cargo Claim is?? I mean I know it has to do with the accident obviously but it would of been nice if they gave us a heads up since they took almost $500 from his last check for it they didn't say anything about us being responsible for any bills this is why I'm asking.

OR.........it could be the money they advanced him to his paycheck. some companies do advance paychecks for road expenses. so, they could have just taken back what they advanced him. and since he didn't finish out his week(?) they were not going to, let him keep money he hadn't earned yet. -
Thanks Rerun, must be a deductible then because they didn't advance him anything besides the normal $50/week.

It's not a major violation. Though it looks bad and many have been fired for minor fender benders, he should be able to find another carrier. There are many out there that require just 6 months experience. I would focus on them. Worst comes to worse, look for Class B work.
Never ever swerve. Buckle down and hit it. Trucks just have too high a center of gravity to be doing radical moves. It hasn't been long ago a trucker in NJ was behind a pickup and he lost a piece of scrap metal. The truck driver swerved and ended up causing a major accident with multiple deaths. Had he hit the metal there would just be some unavoidable property damage.
Here's a list of major violations that will ruin your career.
- Leaving the scene of an accident .
- DUI or DWI.
- Hit and run.
- Reckless driving or conduct.
- Felony with vehicle.
- Racing or dragging.
- Excessive speed >15 miles over posted limit.
- Eluding Police.
- Passing a School bus.
- Allowing a person that is DUI, DWI, or unlicensed to drive.
- Driving with suspended, revoked or fraudulent license.
- Failure to report or making a false accident report

Hey if you want him home more, tell him to put his cb in his car, go down to the rail yards down off of 90 and talk to the drivers going in and out. they may know a o/o that can put him in a truck and he can run freight to and from the rail. There's also a yard by mayfeild hts and one over off lee rd and one on brookpark and one down under valley veiw. I used to make 800 a week running those loads. He can make it too if he's a runner. They dont go by Dac reports. Just can he be insured. And I bet he can be.
