Lot of them is within walking distance tho. There is a little truck stop next to martins peterbilt in london KY and there is a golden corral a couple blocks from there. When I park I usually go exploring to see what is around the next corner.

Jerry Mikeska's BBQ on I 10 exit 698 in Columbus TX is outstanding and he has a giant truck parking lot right next to the restaurant. His brisket is excellent and the pinto beans are killer. 3 meats and 3 sides and a drink for less than 11 bucks is a bargain. I stop in generally every trip to Laredo from SC, sometimes on the backhaul too .

Double J's BBQ on I70 at exit 175 is awesome! He just put in a truck parking lot in the back. We stop there every time we go through. Generous portions. What I like is that the place isn't crammed with tables. Very comfortable place to eat.

Its one of my favorite BBQ joints. Always great food and the scenery inside is great.

WV, I-64/77, Ex44, go North, to GoMart. Park. Get out of your truck, look for the Cracker Barrel sign, sally forth.

Another place in WV, on I64, Ex161, south of the big road. Fair parking, real good restaurant, only open 6a-9p.

VA, I 81, Ex128, NE of the big road, Dixie Diner, limited hrs, but good home-style cooking when they are open. Veggies & such. I always leave there w/at least one brownie.

I often it was worth walking just a ways from the TS. I like Bar B Q, and the best one I found was near the Loves in Daytona Beach FL. There's a plaza next door, and the Bar B Q place was the best I found on the road. Unseated my old favorite, the Missouri Hick, in Cuba MO.

Anybody know of any good trucker-friendly pizza place(s)?

Following is my contribution. Places I stop whenever I drive by:

Peppermill Casino in W. Wendover, NV
All you can eat spaghetti & meat sauce. Used to be $9, but they reduced it to $5 recently. On a bad day, it tramples the best Old Spaghetti Factory can offer.

Rainbow/Peppermill/Montego Bay are all owned by the same guy, but the Peppermill restaurant seems to agree with my taste bud the best. I go to Rainbow if I'm in the mood for buffet, but it's pricey.

The casino next to Sierra Sid's in Reno, NV
There's this sandwich bar at the entrance of Mexican restaurant inside the casino. Great sandwich at great price. Cheese cake is good too.

Rolling Hills Casino in Corning, CA
One of better buffets I've ever tried. Prime rib is always juicy.

    Mike's diner in Castaic, CA
Their Chili Colorado tastes like curry & rice I had in Japan. They probably use cheap beef, but at least it's been slow-cooked and very tender. Don't know how good their other dishes are.

    Bravo Farms in Traver, CA
Pretty good American/Mexican food, but I mostly stop here to pick up some cheese. Tulare Cannon ball (Edam) and Silver-something (aged Chedder that has after-taste similar to Swiss) are very good. In the summer time, there's a dude outside selling Tri-tip sandwich, which is also good.

    Chaguito's in Porterville, CA
This is local to me. It's the next exit down from the Wally World DC on CA-65, and you can park a rig on Olive Ave. Try Chili Verde britto. $3.92 incl. tax. Also some pretty good baked goods at Mexican price.

There use to be a good kabob place by Wally World in the town, but it's gone out of business unfortunately.

    Brooks Ranch in Fresno, CA
BBQ Combo dish is decent, and enough to fill up my stomach.

    The casino in Jean, NV
Don't know the name of the place but there's only one casino left in Jean. Good prime rib at great price. Easy on-off compared to casinos in Vegas.

    Big Texan in Amarillo, TX
This probably is really subjective. I'm a simple small-town folk (a gun clinger, according to PBO) who loves traditional, no-frill steakhouses. I'm not sophisticated enough to enjoy places like Morton's.

Portion and preparation are just as important as the quality of meat to me when it comes to steaks. Big Texan fills me needs. I want to stuff my stomach with a thick juicy steak, not side dishes - they got it covered. I like my steaks bloody rare - when I order my steak rare, they serve my steak rare, not medium rare/medium/well done like most "steakhouses" do. And I want to enjoy the taste of beef, not frou-frou toppings and seasonings made with 126 kinds of imported spices those sophisticated folks seem to demand from high-end steakhouses.

Although I'm a Ribeye eater, I usually have 18-oz Fillet at this place. Good tender meat, with just right seasoning to compliment the taste of beef. Salad is usually fresh. 21-oz Sirloin is pretty good also. Their larger Ribeyes, though tasty, tend to contain gristle. Prime rib wasn't so prime, IMO.

Expensive, but 18-oz filet is half the price of sucky, tiny, overcooked Ribeye I had at Morton's in Las Vegas.
