Yeah, well, it happens to the best of us that we need to find a sawbones on occasion. I won't go into the grizzly details, but suffice to say that although I carry Injun medicine with me, sometimes it's just not enough. Need to see a modern doc with prescribing authority. And I don't want to end up in an emergency room somewhere.

    Ideas?

I'm guessing you aren't anywhere one of the Petro Truckstops with a med center?

    Cancel that thought.
I just went to google the locations for you and I think they have disappeared!

    Anyone know where they went?!

I think most of them closed for lack of use. I'm headed to Vegas. The purpose for this is to, first I need to see someone like within the next day or so , second, I know I'm not the only one with this problem...I mean needing to see someone and not knowing where to turn. I've been waiting to see my own doc for almost eight months, but always go through that area on weekends. Now the problem is way out of hand and becoming a big deal.

OK, I'm an RN, let me post your question on a nursing forum, asking specifically about Vegas, and get back to you.

    Injun Thanks this.

I'm lucky I have a small town doctor that will try to deal with me on the phone. He has saved me by calling prescriptions in before.
If I get bad sick, I just ask the dispatcher to get me home and tough out the 2-4 days getting there.

I always make doctor appts a month in advance. It's a good way to get home on time too even if you don't have one :)

Injun there are a number of "walk in clinics" in the Vegas area. Do a Google search on "Walk in clinic in Las Vegas NV." You should be able to come up with one relatively near where you are going there.

    Good luck!

Mrs T and Injun Thank this.

    Okay, here's where I went:

    Rapid Care Medical Clinic
    4270 S Decatur Blvd
    Las Vegas, NV
    Phone (702) 798-7770

Office visit was $75, then there was a small additional fee for a lab test that had to be done. They are a full clinic and can handle dang near anything. The wait was only about a half hour and they got me right in. Had to wait a bit for the doc, but I think they were finishing up my lab work also. All in all, I had a good experience with these guys.

To get there, on I-15 take exit 38A if southbound, 38 if northbound. Turn west, go to Decatur and turn left. It will be on the left. There is a big tile store on the north side of the clinic that you might be able to park behind if you have a trailer. I was bobtail, so I just parked in front of the tile store. Nobody gave me any grief over it.

    Mrs T Thanks this.
