lol it depends wheather you are actually doing a pti or if you are just going threw the steps identifing the parts and identfing whats could go wrong with them. For my cdl state test it took 28 minutes to do a pti a tug test and a 4 point break test

Showing how to do a PTI (pre/post trip inspection) and actually doing one are a little different. At the DMV road test when you are tested for your CDL, you will explain how to do one, but not actually do one. In reality, when you are driving, you should actually do a complete PTI, which would take 15-30 minutes. BUT, again in reality, you will be driving the same truck and get to know it's quirks and will skip some parts of the pre-trip, such as checking the engine oil daily or the belts and other things. You can put down 15 minutes on your log and the Cops will accept it, but, every so often put down 30 minutes to show you are not just a robot. A smart driver will also vary his driving times on the log.

When you're driving the same truck everyday you get to know the truck and you can spot problems faster because you know what to look for. The trick is to do your inspections the same way and setup a routine. Next year I hope you can look back at this post and say to yourself "yeah it's possible".

You can do a single engine aircraft in 15 minutes.

I always spent longer on a truck and trailer....but usually logged 15 minutes.......

Logged as 15 minutes like mentioned above, but an actual FULL PTI will take about 20 minutes to a half hour if you include actually checking your tire pressures. -That is what will slow things down. And this also includes the in cab inspection. Just get into a routine with the "Broken cracked or damaged" thing and you're golden. I got 108/108 on my DMV PTI test. And that included the in cab test.. but I've been a mechanic for most of my life, so I know these rigs and cars pretty well. I worked on mobile cranes for a couple years also.
