Tell him if the over heating issue continues to set the clutch fan so that it runs constanly.
Just remove the air hose from it to do this.
It will waste some fuel, but the truck will not over heat and blow hoses, head gaskets etc.
Plus when they start to see higher fuel usage they may consider fixing the issue.
Oh, make sure he finds something to stick in the air hose. It will not cause much of a leak, but it will be enough for the DOT to complain. A small screw will do it.

When the loads are dispatched, the people doing the dispatching (and the software) don't look to see how long the driver has been wit hte company. So, that 800 mile, 4 day load, might go to a rookie or a 10 year driver. Same goes with that 800 mile load in 24 hours.

He calls whoever's in charge of dispatch at his terminal and asks for a new driver manager. If he doesn't know who the head of dispatch at his terminal is, he can call the main number and ask them.

Is he using a macro 31? That's where all the maintenance and repair questions go. Does your cousin make sure to let the truck idle a few minutes before shutting it down if he's been pulling hills or driving in traffic? You can actually burn out a turbo by not letting a truck idle and run oil through the bearings to cool down if you've been pulling hills. I've had trucks try to overheat in heavy stop and go traffic too.

not so sure, its my brother btw lol, next i talk to him i will let him know of these things. The shop looked at it in SLC and they said it was due to oil coming from the dipstick and they didnt want to red tag him due to his load. Ill ask if hes doing a mac 31. Also he wants to know how he is able to change his logs if he has made a mistake like log on the wrong line say line 1 instead of line 2.

Had my physical today. I think everything went ok will find out more next week. 1bad is on his was to Nashville (love this run lots of miles). His new truck is cursed tho every time out this week something has went wrong. Oh well hopefully he will get all the kinks worked out soon. He loves the newer truck much nicer than his old one. Things are going good in south Georgia for us. Kids adjusting well. Hope (our oldest) is trying out for a travel softball team that looks very promising, she was put into the gifted program at school and making friends pretty easily. Abby ( the baby) has lots of kids in our new neighborhood to play with and adjusting to school well herself. Now if this job comes through life will be good. Did get a scare with my dad last week. Bladder cancer! He had surgery this morning (pretty upset I couldn't be there for him) we will find out if they got it all when we get the pathology report back next week. Please keep him in your prayers. I know everyone doesn't believe in prayers but we do and I need my Daddy (I'm such a Daddy's girl) I am just really not ready to give him up. Well that's all of my update for now. Thanks for the warm welcome back guys and remember hold it between the yellow lines and keep the rubber side down. :biggrin_25525:

On paper, officially you're supposed to redraw the line then 'x' out the bad information with a series of x's. The company you brother is working for may have other ideas. Hope that helps.

He needs to do a macro 47, tell it WU and pull up his logs for a week. Once they're up, he hits reply (only time you use reply) and then says N to approve logs. Then he hits enter until he's down to the first line, and he puts in month and day, and then the time range to change, and what duty status to change to.

Two things: You cannot edit line 3. If it says you're on line 3, then the only guys who can edit it are Safety.

And, if you're trying to edit the status of something you're currently in, it won't work. For example: you drive until midnight, and then go to sleep, forgetting to set yourself to sleeper. The truck puts you on line 4. You wake up 8 hours later, and want to correct it. You need to send a macro 45 and set yourself off duty or sleeper before trying to edit all that line 4 time. The system won't automatically know to change all of that time to sleeper, and if you try and give it an end time, i'll just continue on line 4 after that.

Except they're blind to the big crack in my exhaust. It's like kryptonite to the inspection bay guys.

I can half understand it, International ordered the part from some non-international supplier, and it won't be in for WEEKS. Supposedly it was the only place to get it right now.

    DOT will not be pleased.

well yeah. they dont touch they dont know how to fix. It took 4 of them to fix my tail lights, AND they had to get one of the guys from the shop to come help them. We'll see if they charged me for it. sometimes they forget. I got some oil and coolant that way...lol
