anybody have job where you are payed by the weight your load is? I am looking into working for a company that does this. Do they take regular taxes out for fed/state? Any info would be great!

I never got paid by the ton or anything on the skateboard, thats a new one by me. Anyone else?

If they are like most places they will take the taxes out just like a regular job. I haul by the 100 weight, works out allright if you get the heavy loads, but make sure they have a minimum weight on every load. Some places we haul out of are 40k min. some are 46k. Also ask how much over weight the boss will pay the fine, because working like that makes you want to pile it on

Steel usually pays by the weight. Like 24valve puller said, they have a 40k minimum, 60k 80k min also. Have seen 2500# coils pay the same as a 40k.

There's allot of products that go by weight. Pneumatic tanks haul by weight, hopper bottoms, dumps. Most of the bulk items I would guess. ( Sand,lime,flour,etc.) I just left a company that paid a percentage based on weight.You'll learn how to judge your fuel stops REAL good REAL fast so ya can get as much on as possible.
