My wife and I drove team for seven years and we loved it. You will most definitely have your off days but that is what motels are for. Her in the motel, you in the truck! We drove for about six months and then we sold the house and everything in it. It was the best thing we had ever done. Sounds like you have a pretty good set-up back home so that you don't have to worry about selling your house. Prepare to make really good money too! Our first year as company drivers we took home $106,000! The second year we bought a truck and more than doubled that! It is going to be tough at first but if you can push through the first three months thats about how long it takes to get used to the lifestyle and be comfortable driving the truck (and comfortable sleeping while your wife drives!). My wife was a little unsure in the very beginning but warmed up to it pretty quickly. Husband and wife teams are also the cream of the crop when it comes to trucking and you will be treated like gold! If you have any questions feel free to pm me. Good luck to you guys and welcome to the forum.

Wife and I have been best friends for close to 30 years now. We work great together as a team. Neither of us is afraid of hard work and understand that this is a tough lifestyle. If we only last a year, then so be it. But I believe we can make it work for us.
As far as grandkids go, hopefully we have another 5 years or so before there are any. But lord knows that can change.
Thanks for all the advice. -
Dustoff go for it! My wife and I had a hell of an adventure and made great money! We currently have plans to do it again in our elder years for the fun of it! Good luck!

Chompi - Thanks for the replies. I can't PM yet but we would be happy to hear any experiences you are willing to share. We are in no hurry at this point. Completely in research mode. When did you start teaming with your wife? Who did you drive for?
-
if you dont need the money that team driving will bring--try going super single--why beat the crap out of both of you running team?
you would probabely enjoy yourselves more that way--as a team running hard its a steady go--go go--as ss you would be able to spend more time together and maybe actually be able to do or see something -
What is a super single?
-
oh sorry bout that musnt be common in US.
its usually a couple--man and wife--or whatever-- generally only one has license and the other a learner permit---and you run your 14 hrs a day rather than 11
thats the general idea of it i guess -
Chompi -- I know you are a big advocate of avoiding the training companies and their likes. Is it feasible for a couple to start out with a smaller company?
-
Do it before the grandchildren arrive! They have a way of making you want to be around for them.
I have never teamed with my wife but she has been on the road with me and may one day we may go out again. It can be a blast! -
ain't no RV u2 will be in....................and you best like being with each other
