How could they have dinged your Dac? This is my biggest worry with leaving Marten.

I used to work for Werner about 15 years ago. I only made 24 cent a mile back then. Now I'm with Marten, and I make between 36 to 40 cents a mile, but with the mandatory 3 cent a mile perdiem accounting fee deduction, and the low miles, I actually made made more with Werner all the those years ago. I've been working with Marten for 3 months now and my average is 300 miles a day, and in that time have had only two loads over 600 miles, and one over 900. I have yet to break the 1000 mile run mark, although I pick up little short runs from the rail that I sit all day to deliver for a pittance. The two 600 mile runs were sit 10 hours, get loaded, run straight to the delivery, then sit another 10 to 12 hour waiting for your appt time. Then they take 4 to 6 hours to unload you, but hey that's ok, cause you might get 12 bucks an hour after 2 hours past your appt time. So even when you get what could be a decent run, it's so poorly planned. I sit at shippers and receiver getting loaded and unloading for little or no pay, more than I actually drive. If you figure out my pay, it's less than minimum wage.

They put all their gravy runs on the rail, or broker them to owner ops. What I would give for a 2000 mile run. The company driver is not a good thing to be at this company. Not anymore.

That $0.24 / mile back in 1995 had the buying power of $0.40 / mile today add that to likely a lot more miles back then compared to today and you had more $

Then post something useful somewhere. Posting just to get your post count is highly frowned upon around here.

I have trouble believing that. He may tell you that but, really the regional division doesn't seem to be efficient enough to give those kind of miles CONSISTENTLY.
They seem to just be getting used to E-LOGS.

Maybe he works for Martin not Marten?

Or maybe he's one of their favorites, or maybe he's not home every weekend. I was a runner before I started working here. I'm happy for your friend. He is a rarity at Marten. I talk to fellow drivers all the time, and they are all saying the same as me.

i used to work for marten myself and i ran as much as they would give me back b4 elogs that was.yea i made ok money anywhere from 400 on the low end to 1200 on the high as a company driver.did i run legal...lmao yea ok.so tell me how your friend runs legal and makes 900 a week constent?being that marten does'nt have the best of dispatchers nor does most companies.in order to run "legal" and make 900+ a week do you really know what that entails? that would mean 99% drop and hook and having a load rdy when ya get there.i guess ya need to run otr abit to be able to see who is making #### up or not....

ps do i wish we could run legal and make 900+ a week...hell yea i do but do the companies think this...hell no.that would mean the dispatchers would have to start working.
