Yeah, you're right on the money there...
A month and a half ago, produce from Salinas to Toronto was paying 8000-8500, then it just dropped.
Month ago, Florida to TO was paying around 5000, now its 3000. When they had that frost last winter, there was about 10 trucks all hoping to get that one load. That really sucked...
freight rates from Toronto to California?

I know I am!
You don't survive 30 years in this industry and not know what's going on!
Your friend may as well work under a milegae contract or go work where he has some say. Just hauling freight for the sake of trucking is redundant. -
He does have the right to say no, but he just started working for them, so he is reluctant to turn down a dispatch out of fear that he will be blacklisted by the dispatchers (a very real possibility) and quiet possibly not get any loads at all...
He does need to make a living and so far he found out that finding a good honest company to work with is extremely hard for some reason...
I know some lanes pay more than others....running ontario and montreal pays next to nothing, since too many pakis are doing it...whats left is either the east coast, south or west coast...
The east coast may pay more per mile, but if you don't know your way around there you will actually make less....
Everybody and their brother wants to do Texas or Florida because there are no mountains and therefore it dosent pay much...
The only thing left is the west coast (from my personal experience)...but of course there are lanes out there, which i have never tought about that pay more, but i don't know what they are.... -
Well well atleast your paki friends are making good living out of it and have paid of there houses and are driving expensive cars what have you done with your life besides complaning and #####ing. Do you even own a house if you do I can bet you are still paying the Mortgage or falling behind.. Atleast your PAKI friends had a gut to start the buisness and stay in it.Canadianhauler21 and end of the road Thank this.

Anyone can live in a mud hut and deem themselves successful by moving to AfbramastanéMiltistan. Sharing a 3 bedroom house with 20 others is not my idea of being successful.
Brown guys are the scourge of the industry. -
Long live the supreme white race! Nobody of another colour can drive a truck.

Shame on you both. Brown? Paki?
Saying Paki is no better than using ######, show some freakin respect for your fellow trucker. Just because they don't truck like you does not mean they deserve to be disrespected. We all came from somewhere at some point.Canadianhauler21, Sneaquie and Native Dancer Thank this. -
it must be nice to get that interest free loan to buy your truck as well--pay it back when you can----
even then those new canadians are dropping like flys cause they cant make a go of it--cause they will haul for nothing
not even going to say anything about their driving skills in bc
ok i will then---little bit of snow and they are running right down the zipper--just like a slot car--and heaven forbid you meet one on a curve -
Try sharing a two lane highway with them when it;s snow covered, you;ll change your tune after the 5th one comes at you one your side of the road!canuck in da truck Thanks this.

They make a living out of it because their living expenses are low. There are 3 or more families living in one house. That's how they can afford a nice home and expensive cars. Their truck is purchased by the families and there are 3 or 4 drivers in the same home. The truck never stops not even for repairs.
On the other hand I know one Pakistanian family in trucking. They live in a nice home and they drive average family cars. They are having a hard time just like the rest of us in this economy. -
Get out of Red Lake much? Next holiday book a vacation to Brampton, On. When they take a load for 90 cents a mile as appose to 1.50 a mile you will understand were the frustration comes from.
