Keep me posted of your progress if at all possible. I am counting down the days to October 12th. Saving money to get a nice decent laptop so I can stay connected and keep everyone posted. Looking into a nice Network card as well.

10-4 will do. today we are headed to plainview tx from mira loma ca pu from wallyworld and del to wallyworld. the first 55,000 miles seemed to go fast lots of coast to coast deliveries these last 5,000 seem to be going slooooow.

Good luck mav! I would wait on the Internet card until you get you cdl as you'll be too busy your first month. My trainer and ran hard, so I really didn't have time to get online. One price off advice is to get as much sleep as possible. I'm in the flatbed side of prime and my schedule is a little better the the refer side. I'm sure the refer guys would agree.

Yeah I know I'll be really busy that first 10K miles getting myself prepared to upgrade and test out. Still though, I'd like to try and keep up with my family at least and try to keep my status updated on here. We'll see how things go. Thanks for the advice though.

Don't forget you've got some free wi-fi out here, and many truckstops sell it fairly cheap by the hour or in blocks. It's an option if money's tight.

LOL!!!! I hate Wi-Fi to be honest. However, I know it is a cheap route compared to the network card. However, I have a pretty good deal with Sprint w/ my cell phone and called today about adding a 4G network card for my laptop and they are willing to give me a good corporate deal.

We spend a lot of time out of major metro areas. I won't deal with Sprint due to various reasons, but you should consider that when you need this stuff the most you're usually in the boondocks. A few years ago, their online coverage was rather marginal in my opinion.
