Thank you Mr. Haney i'm getting my rad recored with a 4 core high effeciency and while i've got it out i'm putting in 58's and the 130-1097 marine cam and as Rolling Coal said earlier, I had my ECM flashed 6 months ago and wow! what an improvement, I'm soooo looking forward to see what improvement this next step makes. I'll check with my mechanic on the bolt upgrades while the truck is there just to make sure. This site is so awesome, lot's of good info shared by some verrrry knowledgeable cat Guy's to those off us who are tryin to get our kittys purrin, Thank You to everyone who contributes( we also have to know what doesn't work) to improve our truck's and engines if we decide to.:biggrin_25524:

All the ideas are fun and good but there is a big problem. The truck is not mine. It is owned by the company that I drive for. I call it mine because no one else gets to drive it but me.

When the cat house pulls your head they may find something else, but if not hopefully when they put it back together make sure and really complain about low power and poor mpg ,you might be able to get'er tweeked to at least run with the C-13's, it really sux's driving when you complain about a problem and it does'nt get fixed because the truck is still running not bad. Good luck, hopefully you'll get lucky and they will find something.

Here is the spec for the worn Saddle on these heads.... I have made a tool for servicing the Saddle area but anymore than 0.020" and you run out of Valve clearance.

Cat has gotten bad for that kinda crap, knock 0.020inch off here, another 0.010inch off there, etc, a tiny bit of valve recession and all of a sudden you have no ability to get valve lash, I've even seen it with brand new reman heads. Beats me how this happens, don't think I ever saw this problem with 5EKs, why does engineering go backwards?

At this point, I will be happy to get the truck back so I don't have to drive this POS anymore.
