AL scale house # I-40 pulled me ower and give me a ticket for $ 290.00 for been 780 lb over on my drive tires.left there to MS scale house and they green lighted me than I pulled ower and went in side to ask the officer if I was by any chance ower weight.he clearly said NO if you were I would have you pulled .Than I told him what happened in AL. He smiled and than he said I get that from alot of other drivers.THANKS AL.:biggrin_25510:

Sounds about right for AL they have to pay for that big #### scalehouse and the state is broke .They gave you the ticket for 290.00 knowing you wont fight it because you will lose more than that in a days pay ( or they hope you wont fight it)

why didnt you cat scale it in GA. starting at either exits
26, 19, 11, 5 all have cat scales all you would have had to do is walk in and show the cat ticket and you would have been on your way...
    also recomend PREPASS..
I hate that scale but usually prepass right on by it...

I'm going to answer for him here and say that you generally don't need to scale a 45klb load on a spread axle aluminum flat, unless it's loaded weird. I also really doubt that they would trust the Cat scale over their own scale.

Very true and I agree but $9 for a cat scale would have been a lot cheaper than $290 considering CAT would pay the ticket or fight it for him and get rid of it.

Doesnt CAT only guarantee the gross as certified not the axle weights? They wouldnt defend or pay for over on an axle would they? Seems like I heard this about CAT,..
