I have alltel 49 unlimited +30 for INTERNET and I tether off my phone. You can get a good laptop at tiger.com or you can get a netbook if you just need something to get by with. Most trucks have company antennas to get by with, If you have someone that has Sirius radio you can hook up on their plan and its like 9. a month also can get gps at tiger.com cheap. Till you have extra money coming in why not get refurbished? been checked out and does work, alot cheaper. you can get a Colman cooler at walmart. Cobra is the best cheap CB, just get it peaked and tuned to your antennas. Just get what you can get by with to start. you can always upgrade later.

    Thanks, Gitty!
Never heard of tiger.com. Will check it out right away.
Refurb equipment is fine with me.

    Drive safely.

    Howdy all!
Today I found through craigslist a small shop with a bunch of laptops for sale.
Even had one toughbook for sale. There are a bunch of IBM thinkpads with a wireless card included for $160 each. There are some Dell Latitude 610/620 for about $200 each. None of the IBM's are duocore processors, have CD but no DVD. A previous employer provided both to me and both worked well.

Duocore processors start at $240. I'm not a movie watcher and never have played games.

I noticed that on startup most of them display an error message of some sort. I have my own Windows XP pro to install.

Sounds like a pretty good deal and value to me. Comes with a 1 yr warranty from the shop. They also sell cel plans there and even used desktops from $100.

As far as budget, this is well within it. Want to be sure the speed will be enough to run streets/trips, e-mail, some surfing, and keep up with paperwork needed to help assure success in industry.

What do you think? As always, thanks.
