What is the rule for attaching placards to a cargo tank... other than the usual holder or stick on style.........

Can they be duct taped on?

    AND

What's the estimated fine / penalty for transporting a hazmat load without placards?

(Mfg. of product railed car load of product to terminal un-placarded, terminal trans loaded product to truck and didn't offer driver placards, driver hauled product to consignee and consignee rejected load as un-placarded haz-mat ) so driver was carrying haz-mat without placards !!!!

Oh yeah, well over 1000 lbs too, more like 45000 lbs.

    Who's wrong? Everybody?

In addition to the placard you are also required to display the identification number on any bulk package.

You can use duct tap provided you ensure the placard is of the minimum size.

    Be safe.

Man, I can't agree more...our guys are often pressured into running down the road, by the company, under the pretence of being DOT compliant. I know we drivers "...gotta do what we gotta do..." sometimes, but sometimes we "...gotta know what we are risking..." We have families to support, one incident that was sanctioned by your company, like legally running over 70hrs, may in fact be a huge, expensive problem if involved in an accident. How are you going to pay for your legal fees? Do you actually think the company will be coughing up those BIG Bucks to pay for your legal fees? I'm not saying the company is blatantly and knowingly putting drivers at risk. I'm saying they may not really know, either. Or, think we should know when to say "no". We need to be informed of actual facts, and we need to be safe, too. Reading and understanding the DOT Regs is nothing less than a challenge, at times. If these guys are willing to put themselves out there to help, man-o-man...ask them! This is great stuff!!! Thank you, As Arnold would say, "I'll be back." :!:

Hello, after many years of being a leased on O/O I, Got my own Authority and hit the road using it about 2 weeks ago. With all the hoops I had to jump through the pre employment Drug test slipped my mind...... Question is, what kind of mess have I opened myself up for by not getting this done 1st? I have taken one now but is it to late?

If it is just shortly after you started, just go and get one done.

ok well I got a violation for "local laws general" for being overweight in IN, never got a ticket, but it shows on my PSP report. How can I get a violation when I never got stopped, never got a ticket, never paid a ticket in IN,??? and also, why does stuff show on MY record when I was in the SLEEPER? we cannot get hired by a our hometown company because of the violations on my report - there's 9 things, and only two are legit - there's 3 that were my husband's when he got pulled in (only ONE was an actual "out of service" our airbags on the trailer were low, and we got that fixed IMMEDIATELY) but it shows on my PSP that I was "out of service" 33% of the time! how is that possible? this is crap and I'm really upset. it also lists times that I got level 3 inspections with 0 violations which is fine, I understand that's good, but when there's 4 of them plus two from when I was in the sleeper plus two of my own (one overweight, one fuel cap came loose) but all this makes me look like a really bad driver, when I am NOT. I am careful and have had no accidents and I'm being punnished for working for a less than stellar company. that's not fair.

Bengal- my guess would be that you were listed as co-driver is why you were charged with the violations. They don't have to write you a ticket to charge you under csa2010. Now as to how an over weight showed up I don't have any idea. Oh,did you get bonus points for your good inspections?
