^ thats the question i forgot to ask as well when i was on the phone with them. for those of us with room to park a truck at home its a lot easier than trying to find a ride is going to be.

You cannot take the tractor home, they allow it one time every so often to setup or clean up but not every time.

You can either park the car at the terminal, or have someone drop you off/pick you up. I've left my truck there for 2 weeks before, parked in the outside of the fence, and it's been fine. There is parking as well inside.

As for not having a mentor, you have many mentors at this company. Ask anyone who works here, they have numbers of many drivers they can call on day or night. I had the numbers of at least 5 drivers even before I finished orientation and that list has grown. The company also has an "open door policy", and you can talk with or call just about anybody. I've called the director of training, as well as the director of driver operations before and they were most willing to help any way they could.

I've been mentored by drivers who've been there, done that. I've also been a mentor where I can to others who came after me. This company breeds a family like atmosphere where everyone helps everyone else out. It was the correct choice for me and my family....

Thanks for the info. Do you know how they react to having been fired from a past employer, even though it wasn't a driving job. I' heard there was one such company that wouldnt consider a newbie at all if they had ever been terminated.:biggrin_2556:

Taking the tractor home depends on the terminal, SFS I doubt you would take it home with a shop/lounge and terminal for parking. I am in Phoenix and take mine home whenever I want. Now just got in trouble with my association so no more overnight parking at home.

thats interesting...thats the only thing im not liking hearing. im within 20 miles of the terminal here if i cant take my truck home that would seriously rain on my parade. i dont have a lot friends or family around to drive me around whenever i need it and i pretty much wont leave my car unattended with colorado weather and car thieves. i go out of my way to have a garage so i like to use it haha. /rant.

Why don't you run by the terminal and talk to the people there? See if they let you take your truck home or not?

Maybe you should consider driving for Conway truckload. So you can take your truck home.

Then if anything happens while you have your truck at home....you can pay for it. Per company policy.....ANYTHING.
