Hey bud with your expereince in service manager and everything else check out North Star Ranch in Howell right off Grand River. I actuall live in Hartland. I'd probably be better if you went in and talked to someone in person. Maybe they can help you out? Like hooking you up with an o/o to get some expereince or something along the lines or operations, either service or fleet management like ya want. Just an idea and that's pretty much the only decent sized place I can think of in Howell right now. Just an idea.

    Wish you luck!!!

Thanks, they are on the list as they are only about a mile down the road. As far as drivers their website says 2 years experience max, but we'll see. I do have the itch to drive..We'll see..Thanks and I'll keep updated. Any experience with any of the schools around here?

Just thought of this thread, 2.5 years later..Odd how stuff sifts around in your mind :biggrin_25523:

So I got my CDl from Lansing Community College..Was a good school..not long after I completed it, they canned the program. Ashame, it was top notch compared to the local mills.

I never did go over the road...I got wind of an opportunity with a major truck supplier and got hired..Then because of my CDL got promoted..Get to do a lot of test driving now..Kinda nice.

Have to admit I still have the urge to go OTR and really do it...Most of the engineers around me call me crazy..Im not about to walk away from what I have now by any means...but the itch is there..

guess it is a sickness :biggrin_25513:

Way to go AJ, thanks for updating. LCC is a good school. I'm from Grand Rapids and have about had it with Michigan. Went over to Roehls training in wisc. and have a co. driver job with them now OTR. Second career for me. Maybe it is a sickness, or maybe it's a sickness to remain in this state...lol.

I would be curious to hear how Roehl is treating you as well, they were on the short list at the time

AJ roehl used to have an awesome rep. from what i hear lately a lot less so. But of course you never hear anything but ######## on the net about any company

Don't go OTR especially in michigan. Michigan is slap FULL of runs even now. I live in nc and have run all over michigan (LOVE that state). One thing about michigan a while back they had started doing the ohio thing and viewing truck drivers as a revenue source. The worst, most ######## speed trap i ever saw was up there (i believe near lansing)

    ajsmith184 Thanks this.
