Moving to the Phoenix AZ area. Im looking to stick with Tractor Trailer hauling dirt or garbage. Any opinions on companies out there? What can you tell me about Heritage trucking or Otto trucking? How do they pay etc. Thanks

Heritage does dirt.sand/gravel etc. FMF construction out of Tempe does bottoms,(is currently doing the road south of the Hoover Dam bypass). Otto does trash and bottoms. All these companies travel for work, if needed.

The thread title is a bit misleading as I thought the OP was looking to stay away from bad companies, but after seeing the post I realized otherwise. Mr. Bults Inc. (MBI) also has operations in the Phoenix area hauling trash to/from the transfer stations and landfills in the area. There is also Bedrock Stone and Pioneer Sand and Gravel.

MBI is all trailer work (walking floor and tipper). Heritage and Otto run super 16's and belly, end, and transfer dumps. Bedrock Stone and Pioneer run transfer and end dumps.

Had a buddy that worked for Heritage ... pay topps out for a driver at 16 an hour. Trucks are goverened at 57mph, and you have to travel to where their contracts are at the time. He quit after spending 6+ months hopping around New Mexico paying for a hotel room (yep, you get to pay for hotels ... at a "discounted" rate of course).

I would only use Heritage or Otto as a starter company when you get out here, then try to find something else when you are settled. There isnt much building going on out here that requires earth work ... lots of dirt haulers are doing other things

I'll verify the travel part. I had applied at Heritage last year when my dad was sick and thought about moving back to Phoenix. All they had available at that time was belly dump work up in Utah.

Yes they are. Actually they go by Pioneer Sand Company now. Last I remember, they were running white kw's with black dump bodies/trailers with gold colored lettering. They are pretty big with locations all over the Valley as well as Tucson and Casa Grande.
