Neither, do more research. Start with the BAD DAC reports for both companies. If at all possible go to a local Tech school with private funding.

You wont find many people that would reccoment CRE but there have been alot of positive posts about Central. I am currently in their training program now. There is a really good Central thread in the "Discuss your favorite trucking comapnies here" section.

Yeah CRE is all around bad there are a lot of companies with paid training if that is the direction you are wanting to take that would treat you a lot better, but if you can I would go to a local school and try to do it without company assistance.

I would recommend Central. I drove for them for quite awhile. The reason I recommend them is they really went above and beyond to help my wife and I in some situations. I have never had that happen at any other company. This is just an opinion though. Do your research, don't believe the recruiters try to find a company that is going to best suit you and your needs. Good luck.

I've researched til I'm blue in the face, and I wouldn't go to CRE to save my life. Just too many upset people. I know, I know... Just like any other company... I just don't want to take that chance there.

Only thing I can add is that if you have to goto a starting company then Central is viewed as one of the better ones. I am in their program now but I cannot comment on the actual company aspect yet because Im still in class. If you havent started with somebody in about 2 months then I will be happy to give you my perspective on it from what I experienced by then.

Until then goto the discuss your favorite trucking co. forum and click the Central thread. Its over 1100 pages long now and has a huge amount of info on them from the past couple years. It still is ongoing so it is current too.

Every time I have called CR England I have not been on hold for more than a minute. They answered every question I had and did not lie about anything.

The solo drivers are dedicated from what all three have told me. They said you can lease a truck if you choose to, but you really need to get some experience before you make the decision.

Now I am not promoting CR England but they did answer truthfully. I went down to the truckstop to get some books that have the trucking ads in them and happen to run into three drivers who where teamed in the drivers lounge. Total of six drivers, two in each truck. All of them where going to Laredo.

None of them lease drivers and they said that they really enjoyed their job. I did not ask them about the money they make as I think this is their own business not mine.

I use to drive all 48 and Canada back in the early 90's for Burlington Motor Carriers and Bowling Green Freight and I remember a lot of drivers bad mouthing the company, but I got all the miles I needed and made good money.

What I would do directed at the original poster is find a truck stop and see if you can run into a CR England driver or Central and ask him.

I have two choices who I am going with, Cr England or Swift. That is if Swift can answer my questions truthfully. I personally like Solo rather than teaming.

I just got lucky running into three CR England trucks.
