We get the best deal at Pilots. We never pay what the sign says, there's some deal they work out where we get a better discount. A couple years ago they were telling us how they negociated this great deal with Pilot, and so for 4 months it was the ONLY places we ever fueled at. We went to come seriously crap Pilots during that time.

Central has loads going to Portland. You usually deliver to any one of a dozen d/cs for the grocery store chains up there, and pick up Fred Meyer, Nursury, or run out to Boardman for onion loads to get out.
There's a drop yard outside of Portland, it's exactly what the says it is, space to drop trailers. you can leave your trailer there and bobtail home if you can't fit a trailer at home. Don't expect it to be there when you come back, empty trailers are a premium in Portland. I have no idea if you can leave your truck there; I'm pretty sure you can't leave a car in the drop yard while you're on the road, so that would defeat the purpose. I just take my truck home, but I don't live very far away.yunghauler Thanks this. -
yes ma'am... that be the one! I just stayed in the truck the whole time.

Yeah, when i was a kid growing up in portland my family had severel truck and trailer, You might know douglas trucking, of hendrix trucking, we pulled doubles with snoopy on the side of them, been around portland for years and years, family have had couple trailers come up missing found burnt down some were stolen for parts, i was allways told never leave a trailer sitting in portland unless u want it to be gone when u come back, as i know it would probly be another central truck taking it, in this case,
I live on the coast little town of toledo and we have plenty of spots to park a truck/trailer just didnt know centrals rules on that it, I live like 45 minute drive from corvallis do u see any problem in that? -
we pay cash price with out comdata cards at pilot.

does central have apu's on the company trucks??i hear they dont alllow inverters..jus curioius as to how u supposed to run things like a t.v. mini fridge...etc
-
I think Peelots have a discounted price with every major carrier out there. 75% of our fuel stops are peelots also and some of them REALLY suck!!!! Since the merger, we now have to use our TCH cards there. Suspect there getting an even bigger discount for that. So far, have only found 2 of them that accept it at the pump.
Not a central drvr but have read thru this whooooooooooole thread. Company trks do NOT have APU's. You'll just have to buy a battery operated tv and fridge. All trk stops will carry them........outrageousely priced, of course. -
co trucks do not have apus but sometimes yoy might get assigned to a former l/os off lease trck and it will have a apu but that is very rare maybe 1 in 1000 does that happen. as for an inverter you can have them but they have to be installed at a central shop for insurance purposes if you were to have it installed somewhere else or do it yourself and the truck catches fire you are responsable for it thats 130,000 dollars out of your pocket f0or a new truck. also you have to pay central to install it i think its about $75 labor for them to do it and you also have to buy the wiring kit from them as well. its cheap insurance if you ask me.

the LCD TVs in the truckstops have 12v plugs that plug into the sleeper 12v socket. They dont use nearly as much power as the regular LCD tvs you get at walmart. I can watch tv for about 6 hours before the truck's low voltage alarm goes off.
