    ok my in laws use to drive for swift and they hated it they said that switching companys was the best thing they ever did.. they are not safe and they dont pay there drivers that well so i totally agree with you.

    ok .. ok I got a good one..

    I went into a terminal to get my one on one log class taken care of. I was put there for a t-call and told my DM that I will take the class here annd we set my PTA for 1200 the next day... (Foreshadowing here)... I talked with a couple cool drivers that night and hit the racks.. Got up the next day and went upstairs to take the class where there had been a couple left over people in front of me from the day before.. (2) no biggie.. So I proceeded to load up on free coffee..

    Two out of the four log violations were legit. One was for my math where I was behind a half an hour on my time and they thought I was over my 11 on a day. I had some hours rolled over and they caught it.. No big deal so we squared that away. and the other one I'm surprised she didn't mention... My not being in ATL when I said I was which was the fault of my mentor and shaving his logs, but that's been discussed already..

    The woman showed me a screeen where it said I was speeding by AVERAGING 132mph in a day...... AVERAGING... YES ONE HUNDRED THIRTY TWO MILES PER HOUR! and She was showing me this and replying as if God himself had told her it was true.. I kept telling her "This is ridiculous.. that is IMPOSSIBLE." She says "Well, that's what it says"....... I asked her "So,how many people in this "safety" department actually look at this stuff other than one???" She says "Oh.. a lot!" And I'm thinking... Oh Kay and NO ONE HAS THE BRAIN ENOUGH TO NOTICE THAT THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS POSSIBLE!!! Without anything short of me going over a CLIFF somewhere in Idaho!! My average for that day was 400 some odd miles in seven hours.. and it was CLEARLY a 4** mile daily log.... Oh you have GOT to be kidding me, there is NO ONE that DUMB working here, is there?!?! And no one out of that "A lot" of people caught that?? I do the =|- fours.. not these: 4.

    The NEXT speeding Violation I got was for going 63mph for 1/10th of a second or a 1/10 of a minute.. She FIRST showed me that I was speeding doing 52mph and I kept arguing with her about it till she showed me the 63 which I STILL didn't agree with, but I let it go. I mean, with an EMPTY trailer, no wind and a flat road, my truck governs out at ALMOST 63. It will do 63 with the cruise on. And they're dinging me for doing something my truck is set to do by THEM.

    Meanwhile... it's almost 11am and I get a call as I am proceeding to get some washer fluid from the shop.. It's a planner/DM saying "Hello? You KNOW you've had a pre-plan sitting on your truck for 4 hours, right?" ........... "Yeah.. My PTA is set for 12 and I was taking a log class".... Him "Well, what time will it be done?" Me: "It got out a half an hour ago.. that's the 277 mi load one? I'll take it" (I checked before I moved the truck, but wanted to see if it was a t-call before I walked across the terminal twice.. just glanced at it.) Anyway.. One terminal doesn't know what the next one is doing.. If you bring up my truck #, doesn't something say my PTA is noon??? or at least CHECK it before you send me a pre-plan, than chew me out because I haven't accepted it because I was taking a LOG CLASS THAT YOU TOLD ME I NEEDED! They've been pinging about that for a week now and when I do it, I get chewed out because I didn't take a load when I was IN the class!

    This place is soo disorganized it's not funny. I'm not royally pissed, or even fumed about it.. just in disbelief that anyone could be that^&*&G dumb. Boy, you wouldn't think that they could micro-manage a guy who is pretty much alone 24/7, but they found a way.. God forbid if they see my 65mph speeds going through Iowa. I am a careful driver and I don't let it get near 68mph. The jake kicks in at 67 with the cruise on and if it's gonna push faster I hit the brakes. If the speed limit is 55, I do 55 unless I am goinng to get rear ended from the flow of traffic.. and THAT is a law in itself, "obstruction of traffic." I got dinged on that for my CDL road test when I sat at a stop sign for longer than a stop and gear change when I was letting a car on my right go (4 way stop sign)...

    Anyway.. I'm gonna do a couple, 6, months here or do long enough for me to be accepted by another carrier and move on. They can't organize anything. I've had o/o's sitting next to me yesterday because they were told to bobtail to a shipper and the shipper turns us away because we don't have an empty for them. This is costing them more money than anyone (drivers.)

    This place was saying that if Swift didn't bring them a trailer tomorrow that they were going to cut their contract off. I don't blame them. It's a good place to get some experience, I DO see that. And learn from others.. not ALL Swift drivers are dangerous maniacs though, but I have ran into a couple idiots. I guess that's anywhere, but this place seems to have the better ratio of bad drivers.

    132 mph? Well at least you know you have the fastest truck in the Swift fleet by far. :biggrin_2559:

    Wow, yall have a totally awesome safety department there.

    I dont think my W9 with 3.55's a 18 double over and a 550 CAT will do 132 mph. And it is a completly ungoverned truck.

    Z28......you just happen to have run into a few ID10Ts. But just to inform you, that when you scan in your logs...the logs are then "looked" at by a computer. And the "code" it comes up with (almost like an old DOS program code) then that is translated into a 'log' on the screen like you'd normally see. Sometimes when you scan a log, it will place a line where none exists.....but obviously if the computer is flagging you for going 132mph average, someone should have taken an actual look at it.

    as far as your adding mistake.....this is the whole reason i run a logbook off my laptop. it is FOOL PROOF. And although there are a few trucks with a 'rich' govenor setting...you could hold your foot on the floor....run 63...and not get a speeding violation. You only get an overspeed violation if your foot is on the gas, and you're going over 64. Get 1 minute of overspeed on a trip, you will get dinged for speeding. you wont get one for speeding for going 62-63. look at your qualcomm, and tab down to the sensortrac's info. you'll see ">64"...and then a time listed next to it.

    from the sounds of it...you got a crappy DM and an even worse terminal. Swift is sometimes disorginized. But only after hours and on weekends.... =)
