Look under the "bad" section, "my 16 weeks with transam". A cat named Thunder just came back and he has 1 of them. Has # 10k on it and is very pleased with it. Says he can't wait till it hits 50k and starts to break in. Think he said he was getting over 7mpg.

sounds about right panhandle..and even though you may have alot of xtra time to get the load or deliver it..always get there as soon as u can..you will set yourself up for another load..im usually a day earlt..al depends on shipper or reciever though..most of the time it works out for me..some of these guys milk the loads and get them on time but then complain aabout there pay

And thats where we differ. I figure, that if they've so badly mismanaged a load, why should I bust my butt for them? There's nothing I hate worse than sitting under a load.......for free. I would rather let the meat company, or TA, have to take care of the load and the fuel, than me. In my experience with TA, doesn't seem to change the next load at all. Now, I have been lucky, maybe 20% of the time, and have been able to deliever early but.........that still leaves 80% of nothing.

Well it's been a while since I posted on here. Not much to say to be honest. They keep me moving, I average 3000 a week or more, and I have little problem with their dispatchers so I just keep on trucking. The grind of being alone all the time is starting to wear on me, guess it's all part of the job and all but it still sucks. I'm trying to save to get a laptop and Internet access out here so I can play games and stream movies so I'll be better entertained instead of stairing out the windshield all day, and then up at the ceiling all night. It's not as hard a job as I thought it would be, but it is alot tougher in ways I had not thought of. Either way I'm still glad of my decision to go down this path.

Take care and be safe everyone.

How long are you guys usually out at a time before getting hometime, and do you have to put in for hometime so many days before hand? TA is on my short list but has kind of moved down the list. Before I started school they were probably at the top but things happen and my choices change.

-+, glad I don't have the problems you are having. I'm a loner and can handle people in short bursts. Probably why this is a good life for me.
It does help tho, that I have come to this life, with money behind me, and not because I had to. That money allowed to to have this laptop b4 I came out and it seems 2b enough for me....most of the time.
Laptops are getting pretty cheap now, so keep a good eye out for them. Whats going to hurt you, is the wireless card and the 5 gig limit on it, especially if you do games and such. Any hoo, you have my #, call if you need to.
Boomer08, I stay out 3 to 4 weeks at a time. Usually try to get home the 1st weekend of the month. Think its 8 days that you have to put your hometime in to get there. THEIR GUARUNTEED HT IS BOGUS THO. They seem to have forgotten that the definition of that DOESN"t have a BUT in it. I usually put in for my HT, the day I come back out.
Seem to have gotten on their bad side since I made some comments over the QC. Preplans have dried up and loads have slowed down. Luckily, I have a slush fund and suspect they'll want this trk to make money B4 I run out.
