There seems to be lots of Werner trucks being imported into Canada right now by some of the bigger used truck dealers.
They are Freightliner Classics and Centurys, KW T600 and W9s. They all have C15s at 435hp and 9 speeds converted to 13s. Most are 2006-2008. All still have Cat warrenty.
Would these be a decent truck or are they beat up with all the driver turnover? How is Werner's maintenance?
Looking more at the KWs.
Any thoughts??

Each truck will be different... ask for engine history, a dyno report and have a good mechanic look at the truck if you don't think you are qualified.
It's really no different than buying a used truck that has an unknown history or former owner.
I have talked to several guys over the years that bought Werner's old trucks and they all had good luck... your mileage may vary. -
My son has 3 EX Werner trucks 2 Classics and 1 T600 ( he is an EX WERNER GUY ) and had no problems with them.
He bought them from the USED truck side of Werner , they had all been cleaned up , detailed and were in good shape , full maint history came with them and never a problem with the CAT warrantys.
You have to watch as there are some out there that have been through a few owners since werner sold them off and get passed off as recent Werner trucks. -
One thing I DID find out from personal experience...Werner hit my truck twice in 18 months while I was parked.
When I was working with Werner on my last claim, I made a delivery a block from Werner's headquarters. Drove by and saw many wrecked trucks lined up waiting for repairs. I asked the claims guy that was handling my last case with them what they did with the wrecked trucks. He told me they usually sell the low mileage ones right after they are repaired. He told me never buy a low mileage truck from Werner... it's probably been wrecked and rebuilt.
The older ones, or really badly damaged units, are kept for parts or sold for salvage.billandlori Thanks this. -
Well, that's good to know!!
These units all have about 500-600K miles. Two to three years old.
The W900s were 261" wb and they have shortened a couple to 244" that we need to run a 53' van here in Ontario.
Thanks guys!!

Those Werner trucks in CANADA are not really imports , they are from WERNERS Canadian fleet.
They are going through a fleet update -
Some do have the import stickers on the dash and MPH primary speedo's, not all but some. I wondered why they all didn't have them, this explains it!!
Thanks,
Bill -
ERB use to do the opposite , they would buy CANADIAN trucks with AMERICAN $ run them for a few months then switch them to their American fleet.
