Training 9/13/2010

Wish I could help. Start at Prime on October 12th. I am sure IP, U2, Sazook, TruckerMike or Emton could help you with that. There are lots of posts on here about the training. Good luck with everything.

The road test consists of a trip around the Springfield area in your instructor's tractor hooked to an mt trailer. It involves turns, lane changes, an emergency stop, expressway entering, driving, and exiting. All the while, of course, you are being evaluated on proper lane usage, turn signals, using your mirrors, shifting, braking, paying attention to signage... you get it, everything. It's not very difficult, but there are some easy ways to fail. Curb a tire, speed, drive too slow, impede the normal progress of another vehicle, etc.
My instructor had me run the course three times before I actually took the test. I still failed it. Curbed that sucker right out of the gate! Passed easily the second try. It does kinda fry your nerves.

 

You get 3 shots at the road test.

 

Pretty sure it's three strikes and you're out on the PTI and backing portions also.

 

It's not, you get as many shots at the PTI as you need, and for the backing, you can continue to retest as long as "you show improvement" in the eyes of the tester.
