I would not go with a coleman, not the way Central's company trucks are. Spend the extra money on an Igloo Koolatron. We went through 3 Colemans in 5 months. After that we bought a huge Igloo, and it lasted 2 years, until the smell it acquired over time got to be too much. The Igloo we have now is great, same size as a Coleman and only about $15 more.

I second someone's suggestion of a Cobra 29 CB. You won't need it often, but it's handy when the weather turns to crap or you're caught in traffic. Lets you know what's going on.

I also second the trucker's atlas. I would go so far as to say get the large print map at any truck stop. The large print is $25-40 for the most part, and it's easier to pick out roads and exits and other annoying things when you get half of kansas on a page, not all of it.

Actually, delivery was down on Freya. Little familiar with Spokane, so I didn't really want to stay down on Broadway. Had 2 stopper with Safeway last. Frozen Dinners. Now have load of minced onions from Boardman bound for WVCDC to have someone repower so I can get my safety meeting and back up to PDX for hometime. The drop yard in Milwaukie has been pretty good about maintaining a few seaworthy trailers. Always have been able to grab one when needed. Worst case Bob tail up to Auburn.

I had the Spaghetti and it was good. Nice and chunky with lots of meat in the sauce like my grandma made. God rest her soul...

I NEVER get to go to the safety meetings because they keep me out of areas with terminals. I wouldnt be suprised if they send me to TA instead of routing me to FDC or WVDC to get my DOT inspection done next week.

Does the shop carry studded chains for ice? I kept getting stuck in parking lots because the shipper/receiver/truck stop doesnt take care of them and kept getting stuck on a layer of ice underneath the snow where the snow chains wont work. I want to be ready this year. lol

Already packed my GI shovel into my sidebox so I can dig myself out od snow.

The broadway J is a scary place. We used to deliver all the time up on Freya, URM and Safeway's security knew us on sight. I don't really miss trying to get backed into either place.

As to empty trailer, forget bobtailing to Auburn if you need one out of PDX. Go to Fred Meyers and pick one up, there's usually no less than 4 trailers in the empty drop lot. Last time I was there I had my pick of 7... Anymore if we're picking up there, I ask my dm if we can bobtail in, as I live about 10 miles from the dc if I go by backroads.

WE don't get studded chains, just the regular kind. That reminds me, I need to pick up a set from the next yard I go to. Last time we were at one, we were too heavy to get fuel and chains, so they have to wait. I hate chaining up too.

Keep in mind as a lease op, you'll have to buy your own chains. Central provides one set of singles for chaining up your trailer (since it's their trailer), but you'll need to purchase the other sets. Sometimes they offer new and used chains. I don't know the details, as I usually grabbed a set of chains and just left them on the truck until I traded to a new truck. We had to ditch out chains in May though, because of an overweight beer load...

Just checking in finally got me one of those job thingy today. Start on the 29th back to driving a school bus. Which is fine with me, with 1bad's crazy schedule I know I will home when the kids are home which is good! 1bad is running like crazy this week 3 loads to Nashville and back at 1500 miles round trip we'll take it every day. Kinda odd him not being around all week but I can live with that every once in awhile if the miles are good! We had a date night this past weekend went to Paul Dean's The Lady and Sons for the 1st time. OMGGGGGGGGGG the food was so great then hit River St for a little Wet Willie's ####tail and watch some crazy guy playing music on the street. Was so nice just being out the two of us.

Well keep the rubber side down and hold it between the lines boys and girls and we will check back in soon!
