NOW I POSTED information about authority on an earlyer post and i got a reply from an expert stating that he got his authority himself dont really no what his intent was and i dont care ive learned over the years that trying to argue or make a point with a truck driver expert i useless.

however it is true that you can get your authority yourself, and as the gentelman stated you can call the DOT and get all the paper work you need and they will even answer your questions you can also do it on line.

now the cost of authority is 300.00 bucks but thats not all there is to it before your authority is active you must get insurance to go with it such as liability.

now it was stated that he only payed 380.00 for his authority and insurance, now if he did he didnt get much insurance , i carry a 1million dollors in liability and 500.000 in cargo and i doubt he got insurance the proper amount for 80.00 no way in hell. insurance cost a sight more then the authority.

and the leeches that he refers to that get it done for you are there for a reason, for those that are not comfortabe getting it them selves. or people that dont have the time to fool with it and those that dont want to take the chance of making a mistake , when fooling with the goverment mistakes can be costly and are always time consuming. it was easier and faster for me to have it done, thus no mistakes and no time lose and in the long run much cheaper. the expert seems to be fond of the DOT and thats a good thing for him but i doubt he will be out here long , BUT what do i no i only started this business yesterday and i didnt go to truck driving school , imagine that.

but as i have said before everyone is an expert well almost everyone , funny thing is that most drivers that are not experts seem to last a lot longer then the experts themselves.

emmmm wonder why. at any rate anything i post is a fact from my own personal expeirence not from a truck driver story or from a truck driving school.

and no one has to believe me or what i say , it just takes a couple of phone calls to verify it and those that want to contradict me , why bother im nobody , just a driver and im not going to pay a lot of attention to what you say anyway.

ive got my trucks and my authority for all six of them so i must be doing somthing right and i might add there payed for .

i wish all of you well and the best of luck in all your endeavers.---southernpride:biggrin_25514:
