Sign clearly says 10' 9

The Onondaga Lake Parkway is a shortcut from I-81 NB to I-90 WB. So it probably was the GPS that suggested it. His own stupidity takes over from there. You can see it on the Motor Carriers' Syracuse inset but it isn't labeled.
I mean, you can put up a No Trucks or Buses sign at the exit but the guy missed a dozen low clearance signs so how much would that help? -
Right, but he wasn't following the route programmed in the bus's own GPS.
-
I learned a long time ago to not trust what a truck driver told me on a route as gospel. I had one send me down a wrong road once.
I contact the shipper/receiver. -
Maybe not in the last few years...But when I started driving, That's how I learned.
But then in those days there weren't as many ######## driving trucks as there are now! -
This was from an old hand. Back about 10 years ago.
Ran into him later and he said, I always tell people to go that way to get them into trouble.
He had been driving since the 70's and was not a NEW guy.
You may hate the new guys, but there are alot of bad old guys as well. I watch ALL drivers who come near me.
Fancy KW or old Roadway. I get crowded by the fancy trucks more than the union guys.
The new large companies, well, they have to learn somewhere, and as a professional I watch for them as well. -
Wow...You must just bring out the best in people.
I don't "hate the new guys" as you seem to think...but I have a total lack of respect for anyone that doesn't approach this line of work with respect and sense of responsibility that it requires to be done right.
So you say....I don't see a lot of union guys acting the fool and I really don't see a lot of O/O's acting the fool either.
I do see tons of bottom feeder company drivers doing stupid, dangerous things and I also see a lot of what I refer to as "NAFTA specials" (See Below) doing stupid, dangerous things too.
Yeah...We all watch for them.
NAFTA Special: An old "fleet dog" usually a Freightliner Century or a Volvo or a KW T2000 with the fairings hanging on by a thread and filthy windows driven by a non english speaking person with no respect for our country or its laws. -
Just because it is a fancy truck does not always mean it is an OO.
I was not the only driver he did this to. I warned everyone in the future about him.
I also said you MAY hate the new guys. I did not say YOU HATE them. It is just a figure of speech.
