Well thank you, I am glad you informed of that. Now be sure you log EVERYTHING on line 4 just like they tell you. I hope you have plenty of books and movies to help pass the time as you sit at the truck stops, oc's rest areas etc out of hours. And if you look towards the road....that will be me driving down the road making money. Heck, I might even have that good load you were supposed to get, but couldn't because you didn't have enough hours.

    Have a nice day.:biggrin_255:

By all means I don't know a lot of stuff about the trucking industry but I call BS on this one. They may be paying for the rental car but are they paying him or her to drive it? And is a rental car cosidered a CMV? I doubt it. I would have to see that in writing. Please show me. It can't be cosidered a commercial motor vehicle due to it weight classifications and or number of passergers it carries. It may be considered a company car but it sure in the heck isn't a commercial motor vehicle. Those are the three main words. CMV

Well do I detect a snotty sarcastic texan remark. I'm just telling people what I was taught. I know it's stupid but I didn't make up the rule. Don't worry about my miles. We are getting 6000+ on an average per week. So you have a nice day. And here is a dollar so you can go buy a new personality.:biggrin_2559:

You Know Gypsy, honesty sometimes does pay down the road. It's nice being cool and calm when the DOT officer asks for ALL the log books in the truck and you can hand them over with a smile.

If anyone wants to know why the thumb-screws are being tightened on us drivers is because some of cheat.

The log book is a legal document, your word! IF I drive even 15 min over my hrs I mark it on the line "Drove past legal hrs".

No one may get caught fibbing, but as long as I know you know and the DOT knows, the thumb-screws tighten. JMHO and in no way more right than others.

"and BTW, I put a tire gauge on the tires, adjust the brakes,"

Do not!!!! Do not adjust the brakes unless you hold the training certification card and sign the VCR. You can be held liable by the carrier and the DOT. Trust me on this...... but if you must...... tell no one and sign nothing. Same applies to O/O's adjusting co. trailer brakes.......

And the rented car falls under the co. insurance umbrella that covers all owned or leased vehicles. It is a CMV while in use by the carrier just like they use the van for Smith Sytem training.... get it?

It's the same grey area that says the dispatchers have to be in the random drug screen and those that direct the activities of a CMV.
