Hopper, Dump O/O's & Drivers

I just looked up the Goodrich DR444's,WH,and they look a lot like the General D460's i saw today on a farmers truck at the mill and he said they pulled great in soft field conditions. I know some folks don't like General tires,but i have the D450's on now,and they have served me well,so i won't complain,plus we have a really good local dealer.I would just like to try a closed lug design and see how they wear compared to the open lud D450's.I think mine will last thru harvest,but i would like to have a new set before winter sets in.

 

We ran continental/generals and had pretty good luck with them. Only lost one to a railroad spike in over a year. And I pulled off into some fields full of spikes pretty regularly.

 

I talked to truckers that pull '50 with a rear tag axle lift & they said that 90000 gross wt. is the norm.
I don't know what wheel base tractor's they drive.

 

Well, the first couple years we were IRP, my record keeping may be a little shaky, but the last few years I've done better. I called the number today and talked to them, said I haul grain and I am very busy this time of year. The lady said the auditor would take that into consideration when setting up an appointment time. Talked to one of our neighbors today that has about 10 trucks and he got the same notice. I'll do the best I can to get stuff in order, its got my stomach churning.

Yep,i am looking forward to trying 'em out. I think i'm going to try the DR444's and see if i can get a few more miles out of them compared to these open shoulder General's.

Are you still staying good and busy? I think we have had one of the best ''harvest weather'' years in a long time around here,and with corn yields being down,i may be back to hauling feed ingredients by mid-Oct. if bean yields are off as well
