    Hello there Drivers
I wanted to join the discussion with a little input from a Pilot Flying J employee. I know, how much you all hate this merger. The reason I know this, is because I am getting yelled at daily. Please understand, that the person behind the counter is just doing his or her job as dictated by the new boss "Pilot". We have absolutely no control over the new policies. Unfortunately they are changing a lot of things. Yes, you can no longer start the pumps with your J card. You have to come inside and pre-pay, if you are planning on using cash, credit card or check. We are unable to start a pump for you, unless we have a specific amount to enter into the computer. You all know your trucks and how much your tank holds. You should have a good idea on much fuel you need by your gas gauge. We have to enter your check before you fuel and will give you back the difference, if you don't use up the whole amount you estimated. No amount of yelling at the cashier is going to change that. I have had many drivers tell me, this is stupid and they are not coming back. I am sorry to hear that and wish I could change it but I can't. We have a new computer system and it will only do what it will do. I get, you are frustrated with the way things are, but why take it out on the cashier? Throwing things at us and cursing us is not helping. Someone here said:" Keep complaining" Fine, if you must, but please understand, that the one to complain to is Pilot Corp. Go to their website and send an email. Complaining to the cashier is not helpful, since they (Pilot Corp) don't really care what the employees think. They do care, what the customers have to say. It has been a very stressful couple of month for the employees, since everyone is so hostile anymore. Speaking for myself, I love my customers, I feel much empathy for the difficulties everyone is going through. We try to make things right for you guys. At my store, both Pilot and Flying J cards work now for showers and stuff. We will give you a free drink, if you fueled here and have your receipt. This will go away after awhile and they will scan your card for points to pay for a drink. I don't like this anymore than you do, as I believe you should be able to get a cup of coffee after you fuel. I am just asking to please have Mercy on us. It makes for a very long and difficult day, if every other customer is mad at us and yelling and cursing. We are just trying to make a living, just like you. Thank you for your consideration.

    Holy Crap !

People throw things and curse at you because "Corporate" changed the policies? I am sorry for others boorish behavior. Thanks for all you and the others do at the new Flying Peelot.

I think I was the one who said, "Keep complaining" and gave the URL for the Pilot feedback page.

    patientOne Thanks this.

Thanks for your kind answer. Yes people do that. I try to make things better, but it doesn't always work. Thanks also for leaving a link to Pilot. I must have missed that. Hopefully people will be proactive and direct their comments to the persons able to make changes. I am not sure how I feel about the "Peelot" comment. :biggrin_25525: I am fairly certain it's not the employees, who pour questionable fluids out there.:biggrin_2559:
And finally you are very welcome. You and your fellow drivers are the reason we are here! Customer service is our first priority and sometimes it's an uphill battle with all these new rules :biggrin_1square6:

A friend of mine nearly got laid off from his Flying J because it was one of the ones that became a Love's. They eliminated his position and finally kept him on as a cashier. I don't envy anyone who's not in a Pilot, J, or one of the new Love's; you guys have your hands full.

truckerx1: about your shower at Fairview, TN - when was it that you went there and they couldn't take your Frequent Fueler card? Was it before September 1st? All locations should be taking both Frequent Fueler and Driver Payback since September 1st. Please contact me at sm3 (at) pilottravelcenters (dot) com with your card number so we can add you a shower credit. Sorry for the inconvenience.
