    Two years is required. Typically to apply for a job with Ryder you should call any Ryder rental shop in your area and ask for the local recruiters number. There can be quite a few accounts in any area to work for and the nice thing is you can transfer to different accounts and still carry your benefits with you. I've been with Ryder for almost 3 yrs and I plan on sticking with them they are a great company. I currently run for the Toyota account and we just haul parts the cars are hauled by a different company. The captain of the ship policy is great for protecting you from running in any conditions that you don't feel comfortable in and the pay is usually generous

    Ryder typically does contracts to vendors and labels tge truck like a private fleet

    I drove for Ryder logistics in cape mo on a
    Do It Best ( hardware account )

    Orange trucks ( private label )

    They also use a temp agency called
    Pro- Drivers. So u are not actually ever a Ryder employee but must adhere to tge rules

    My brother still drives for them any questions just ask I try to get an answer for u

    Driver go on their website. They seem like they are almost the perfect company. They also send you to school if you ever want to change your career field.

    They are a pretty good outfit all in all

    Check out Pro-drivers u will be able to find out stuff like benifits etc or even if your area falls under pro drivers temp agency some do some don't

    But they r a good company

    I don't know about now, but I drove for RDL in the early 90's out of GA. It was a good company to drive for back then. Equipment always got fixed when there was a problem, no matter which terminal we went in to. Did dedicated and pool, it all was good. Pay wasn't great at that time but not too awful bad.

    Hell, those were starting rates back in the 80's.
    No wonder this industry is going to the dogs.
    To many refugees drivin truck for peanuts.

    A recruiter at one outfit told me that most online apps seem
    to get lost in cyberspace or deleated by accident.
    The best thing to do is print out a paper app and mail it in.
    Or call their main number in Atlanta, GA. at (800)793-3754.
    I know they're having an open house in my area real soon.
    They might be having one in yours.

    I went to their open house today.
    Seems the recruiter I talked to out of Atlanta feed me a line about
    several shuttle runs available in my regional area ( what else is new ).
    The people I talked to at the open house said only OTR 48/Canada.
    Been there, done that, no thanks.
    I did fill out the app and got their " direct line " to the "top guy "
    in Atlanta to find out about future regional runs.

    My experience with Ryder. Applied online for transfer driver 3-10, They finally contacted me in September, real nice guy wanted me to start immediately. Peoria shop hired me thru temp agency, said Ryder couldn't employ me until I attended orientation on 11-8. I worked my ### off month of October. I told supervisor I was out of hours and he told me to go anyway but not log it. A couple days I workied over 20 hours. Everyone I worked with said I was doing great. Regional manager came in and said I was done 10-28. Why? He said I was slow. I only seen this guy twice. My dispatchers in Peoria said I was great and ignored regional manager had me working past 10-28. end of month regional manager showed up told me to leave and not come back. WTF I called the man in HR and he would not talk to me. He sent E-mail rescinding job offer and left reason blank. I've never been let go in 40 years. Ryder is one screwed up company.
