U S Freightways are a bunch of liars and cheats. They run you good for the first month then start sitting you for several days at a time so they can sell you on "cheaper freight". What they are actually doing is taking a greater share of the load than the contract calls for. I have documentary proof that this is what they are doing. When I returned the trailer to the rental yard after only 12,000 miles, USF attemped to charge me $1,800 for relocation fees, replacing 4 tires, and damage to The trailer. $1,000 for quiting after they had breached the contract, (skimming) and $1,000 for two door decals that are not returnable or reuseable.They still owe me at least $5,000 for July. They are racketeers and thieves and if you want to get screwed mightly then sign on. Driver beware!

 

thats true as i stated when i first started with them i was running at first. then like you said they do sit you. they would call me every morning and tell me they have a load only to find out it paid 1.18 with 45k thats with fuel surcharge i told them i no then they would say we will find something else. the next day it would start over. one of my dispatchers told me she hated to call with that cheap freight but they made her call.

 

now they tell me i owe them 2k for trailer rental and i havent had a trailer for 2 months. i stopped running for them. i told them i didnt have a trailer and im not paying a rental fee on something i dont have. and i still think they are getting a kickback on the trailer rentals. they only want you to rent action trailers in chicago. they only have the one place there so if you need anything done action would tell you they will not pay to have anything repaired on the rd. they want you to bring it back so they can do the repairs.even for the tires.

I talked to a guy there named ed. he referred me to three drivers that seemed to be doing very well. Do any of you guys have updates? Im seriously thinking about taking the dive into being an o/o with them

 

Its like any other company, you always have a few drivers that are doing well but the majority never are. I would suggest reading what other drivers have said about USF.
