Anyone using OOIDA insurance? How are they compared to others and why are some companies reluctant to have you use them?

    Pablow Thanks this.

Landstar was sued by OOIDA...hence the bad blood.

I priced them several times... the coverage was just as good as my local guy but I always saved a little money doing it locally.

Thanks for your reply. Sill getting quotes from different companies in anticipation of running under my own authority.

I pay my own... don't remember the breakdown but it's around $5600.00 per year with 19K property damage on my tractor and 10K on my trailer.

I've very good service from Great West, Northland and Sentry over the years.

    moblue Thanks this.

Uh....No, It says something about Landstar.
I guess you didn't read the part about the OOIDA lawsuit against Landstar.

I have all of my non trucking insurance through OOIDA (Bobtail, Undispatched deadhead and such) and they've been great about replacing windshields without question when I get a crack or a bad chip.

I've never had a claim other than glass breakage but the rates are very reasonable and the service I've recieved from them has been very good.

Hanadarko, 112racing and Pablow Thank this.

I have had OOIDA insurance for the last 15 years. I cant tell you how they pay off if you need them because I have never filed a claim. So for me they seem like a good company.
