Yes thanks. I wonder what the most students they take for one class? I hope ours is just 6. I bet your time in the seat is pretty good.

Boomer, I think the max is just 8 or 9. I had heard 8 but i think there was nine in the group that graduated yesterday.

The basically start a group every two weeks thus graduating one every two weeks. Plus they run a "bootcamp" through every week. Bootcamp is a program that Crowder put together for Conway. When Conway hires experienced drivers, they put them through the camp to unlearn any bad habits and reinforce good ones.

Week 3 and into Week 4...
I was right in that by the end of week 3 they have taught us all the new skills and the balance of the time will be spent practicing and testing on backing and road trips. All preparation for week 5 and the CDL test.

Words of wisdom: 1) Learn from your own mistakes and the other students when they are driving. 2) Bring rain gear, just a $6.00 poncho worked fine for me. On the road I will likely invest in waterproof pants and jacket.

Have fun, talk with the instructors if you are feeling frustration, and you will do fine no matter where you go. The instructors will help you and encourage you.

I will post as much as I can about the testing process without violating anything, but my understanding is, the school tests are harder than the CDL test itself. So relax.

Crowder's a great school. Take a positive attitude in with you and things should work out fine. They teach you to drive and not to just pass the test. For those who are currently attending or considering it there is a computer lab in the library. The library is in the new building at the front of the campus and is located on second floor.

Thanks for the input Colorado. If they bring a laptop, there is WIFI in the dorm too. You are exactly right about teaching you to drive, not just get the CDL.

Who are you with since you came out of here?

    Be safe.

Week 5: The stress is over. The most important thing I have learned is the CDL test is easier, and more forgiving than the Crowder tests. The scoring is easier, and drum roll...I got my CDL today.

The important part of that lesson is, Crowder, with its difficult standards prepared me for success on the test and oh by the way, I would match the drivers that come out of this program with any program in the country.

I am not comparing to other programs because I haven't been in them, but I can say, they didn't simply make me able to pass the CDL, but rather, they made me better than what it takes to pass the test.

I can't ask for anything more.

Looking forward to a real quick trip home to Fort Myers, Florida this weekend after 5 weeks away and then Conway orientation Monday. I guess I should call Christine my recruiter tomorrow to confirm all that.

Thanks to all who have given words of encouragement in this thread. I can't wait to thank you all personally. Looking forward to the next phase.

    Be Safe out there,

    RR

RR, I had a great time training with you. To all who are following this thread. Crowder just got in two really cool simulators. They don't replace driving the real deal, but they are cool. Crowder provides a top notch training program with top notch instructors. I have met too many great people to list. But to each one of you keep in touch and be safe. Off to pumpkin driving I go.

Hey good luck Deacon. Still haven't made the commitment but I am leaning heavily to Schneider. Be safe and keep us posted on your progress.
