I have one of these that I use when I visit my parents. They keep the house so hot, if I'm sitting down without a table, it would be way too hot to use the laptop in my lap without one of these. I also use it in the truck.

I believe most of the net books are fanless at least my dell is.

All Note-Book and Net-Books need service like in this video every 3-to-6 months depending on the dust and dirt in your environment. Your system will run faster & last longer.

I have use a laptop cooler but that's because this laptop is specced for gaming (8 gb ram, intel i7 processor, etc) and gets really warm with graphics cranked to max. Unless you're doing things like that I wouldn't worry about it, just make sure it has some kind of air flow underneath if possible.
