I was going to try to get home again then and just deliver my load early. I'm already cutting hometime short. I think your hubby has a decent FM and obviously has a good relationship with the guy. I still don't really have one, but will be with a supervisor till they hire some more on. Not sure how I feel about that, but it is what it is.

They were really quick getting trucks out of there that day. I wonder if that guy in securement class ever got his Flat or not? Heck I can't even remember his name... He was given the keys then his FM came down and snatched em back... Last I heard from him was him heading to camp in his truck with a local trainer up near Rhinelander or something up north of Marshfield. His grey truck was just ready for recycling... lol

During your home time, do you ever have to take a trailer home or is it almost always bobtail?

Got my acceptance into TD school today, 4 weeks of training starting Nov 1 at a local community college. (well, a little more than 4 weeks because of the holidays.) Roehl is on my short list of preferred, along with KLLM and Conway with pre-pre hire emails from those three. Hopefully will get some real prehires further along in training, also have a few backup carriers in mind.
I also got a call from an RV transporter in Indiana. I have a cousin that works for them and he gave them my name. It seems like there is a shortage of RV delivery drivers at this moment in time. Pay sucks, don't see how anyone can do that, but I thought the call was interesting anyway. -
Very seldom would it be bobtail. Lots of times u will take a load thru ur hometime. If ur not loaded,u would want an empty trailer so u could go straight out to get a load. Being bobtail at home is kinda of a pain. U gotta go find an empty, and alot of shippers don't like it when u bobtail in. Roehl really is against being bobtail unless there is no other option.

Thanks for the info. Y'all are bein a great help. I've got my sites set on wantin to go to RDTC. Been following all these posts on Roehl and love what I'm hearin. Just gotta get some funds saved up. Do you absolutely need your passport before goin up there? Also, does anyone know if Ohio will take 3rd party cdl test scores or will I have to retake my cdl for Ohio?
-
They would like you to get the passport or the passport card before you get there or during the last week of being up there they will help you apply. Meaning they'll give you the app for it. I had mine ordered, but did have it yet. When I started evo 1 they just didn't route us up to Canada. You should call the DMV in Ohio and ask them specifically. Otherwise you'll need to do as I did and get the temp lic up there then transfer it over when you get done with orientation.
wulfsbergvw and Zangief Thank this. -
Awesome. Thanks y'all. Got another question though. (Hate bein THAT Guy that always asks too many questions). When you get assigned your truck, what equipment does it come with (CB, fridge, inverter, etc.)
-
None of those unless you get a truck with an APU then you would have an inverter.
wulfsbergvw Thanks this.
