You stretched the bungee cord a little too much. You ain't going around any narrow curve at 85 mph loaded.
-
I would have choose the ditch at 2 mph then go down the hill. I do work mountains a lot delivering sand for the roads in places like Sequoia National Park, Angeles Crest etc.. Now I don't haul flammable but have to deal with Ice, Snow and doubles. Brakes are always a bad idea on ice or snow. I agree with using the natural terrain in someway, But it has to be stopped under 5 mph or you may never stop it.

That is still my thinking, but I haul Roll paper in Dry Van. For the most part it don't shift. But when my truck starts to slide like that, I would rather be pulled from the edge at the top by a Tow truck, then have the rolls lifted from my crushed body at the bottom.

Tell you what CC, any of the truckers who run that route on a daily basis can demonstrate that little feat for you. The hill's still there, untouched and unloved.

Yeah, too bad work sucks so bad up there. Up around Shippegan used to be cool until Quebec started their crap. Many fond memories of lobster boils held on the beaches with fiddlers and "dancin'" and such.

As a gashauler myself and if it was in this day and age I would be getting on the cell phone and calling the local TV station and telling them to get their azzes out here because you are about to see one helluva truck wreck
-
Sheet !!! I believe I'd a stayed home for we all know so and so can do it, why can't you? I'd have to give them the quarter to call so and so.
You betcha! Lets get him in here !
Honestly ? I pick the ditch or the snow bank, anything to stop it! 14%? Too tough for this flatlander! -
If the truck is out of control as described in that scenario that is where I would want to be. Outside wizzing.... not inside wizzing...

I already told you how to get down any hill with or with out a curve at the bottom.
