    found it, http://www.todaystrucking.com/news.cfm?intDocID=23021 they will be going to a AMMONIA BASE SCR SYSTEM, this will be a cartridge that will be replaced at every oil change, leaving the driver out of the loop, and this system will weight half that of the DEF system, international will pounce on frieghtliner and volvo for going the DEF route, i can hear the storys now

    If it was all it was cracked up to be I would expect the europeans would be doing more than experimenting with it.

    What I have heard is that Cummins (as in cummins emissions systems) is working on a system that does not require any other equipment (after all ammonia and urea are both manufactured out of hydrocarbon feedstock) other than the diesel that is already on your truck anyway.
