I know a person is not supposed to smoke within 25 ft. of certain hazmat loads. But what are the chances of a driver that smokes getting hired by a company that hauls hazmat from time to time ? Just curious, thanks.
-
My trainer was a smoker. Its just flammable placarded loads I believe. How would they know? I have yet to see a job application that asked if you smoke.wildbill123 Thanks this.

This is true a smoker can get hired but just dont get caught smoking in the truck its a hefty fine plus when CSA comes online it will get you major points for itwildbill123 Thanks this.

How you doing on miles right now ?
Memphis is crappy yet again .. -
No, but some companies like mine have a no smoking policy in the cab. Do the drivers that smoke follow it? Not really. But that will be their problem if they are caught.
There is the law and your companies specific policy on smoking. I would think that if you followed them, there would never be a problem.

My boss told me that federal regs prohibit any commercial driver from smoking in the tractor...
I have not looked in the green book to see if this is true or not.
Anyone know? -
