Maybe the number is out of service.

rather than regurgitating what you've read off this board, why dont you go back to that indian casino and keep playing your bingo.....

You "always" see swift trucks on the side of the road broke down or in a wreck? Funny...i can't even tell ya the last time i saw either one. You must keep looking at the same pictures or something.

Actually, there are in the process of going public:

    http://swifttrans.com/uploadedFiles/S-1%20Filing%20Press%20Release%20-%20Final.pdf

So they will be raking in $$ in new capital from the investing community.
About as stable a situation as you can imagine.

Also of interest - saftey stats.
People seem to bash Swift for this.
Turns out, they have a great record, and are listed as PASS for inspections.

Some data: (the last column is inspection recomds.)

    # trucks / DRSEA /VHSEA / 1-49. pass / 50 - 74 optional / 75-100 inspect

    Swift 16,048 / 43.13 / 37.31 / 33 < - PASS on inspections (more road time)

    Millis 724 62.01 18.99 91

    Central 1730 51.2 37.79 91

    USA 2357 49.75 54.37 92

    Prime ?

    Stevens 1814 41.92 38.8 91

Congrats ORG! Now just don't start to smell like a real truck driver! Use them showerz!:biggrin_2559:

You have worked your butt off to get where you are, and have "dun gud!" But you're now thrown into the hardest part of your training. However, with your attitude and intelligence, I just can't believe you won't make it just fine.

Take care my friend, and keep on keeping us posted!:yes2557:

I am too lazy to read all the posts in this thread but I thought I remember seeing something about Swift making you team drive first before going solo?

Is this correct and if so, how long do they make you do that before letting you go solo?

I have not seen any broke down or wrecked and I am on the freeway everyday 80 miles round trip from home to work and back. I see Swift trucks everywhere on the road.

I may even consider working for them if and when I make the leap. They sound like they have the miles for sure!
