I think Milan Express trains on autos intentionally to keep people there at their 'crappy company' with them. There ARE good companies with autos... several have been mentioned on this thread, there's just not as many as those who have manuals.

I guess it depends on what you want in life. I'm of the notion that none of the big companies are worth a ####. company i'm with has like 600 trucks (owner ops) and it's on the edge of being too big.
at a big company nobody give a #### about you. You can bend over backwards for them and nobody notices but the first time you need some slack on something it's shame on you

Yeah, that's true. I've dispatched for large and small companies, and the smaller ones definitely do pay more attention to the driver's needs. I guess when you're inexperienced, ya gotta take what you can though to begin with... expecially the way jobs are right now.

Did you take your DMV test in an auto? I know out here in California that if you take your class A test in an auto you will be restricted from manual class A vehicles. They will put it on your license in CA.

I know Arkansas does the same thing with the restriction.Did my CDL school there at C1 in Newport,AR an that's what they told us.I made sure to test out on a 10 spd. Although when an auto works right it's nice.Makes Chicago a LOT easier. It does get boring after a while though and sometimes I reach of the shifter and look like a dummy when it's not there.

The Milan Express school is third party testing. In other words they give you your test and all you have to do is take your paperwork to the DMV and get your license, the only tests you take from them (DMV) is written test.
